Been trying a lot of little tricks to make Mickey Mouse magic happen in 3D. I saw this method done for this video: https://vimeo.com/174927295I decided to give it a shot because I use flat shading on faces anyway. I had to screw around with my compositing nodes to remove some unwanted outlines, otherwise it worked flawlessly!Since my next project will be more dialogue heavy I might end up using the flappy anime ...

Got my main rendering PC hooked up pretty good. Once I bake the fancy stuff I've got frames rendering in under a minute. I'm gonna be using a little bit of compositing node magic along with screwing with the baked textures to give more of a water color look. Here's a little sample scene I did in order to learn some PBR stuff and get the hang of Cycles again. This probably won't be used for anything but it was good practice.

Working with Cycles render on my next project. I was able to port over a model from How This All Happened fairly easily. Getting a flat shaded face required some trickiness, but I managed it. Basically once you turn off every feature Cycles is useful for it looks exactly like Blender's internal renderer but runs way faster. I'll be able to render in 4K no problem.
Also, I updated the hair on May's model as sort of a practice run for using Bevel Curve Tools.
