This is just a five minute video capture test where I'm trying to get it working how I want with the new setup. You can hear my laptop fans begin to wirr as it works on capturing this high resolution from a 5k monitor (which I later reduced down). I still have to tweak the output size and hope that helps. I tend to run it through Handbrake when I'm done to get the size of video that I want.
There was a lot of pre-testing, as well. I couldn't capture the entire screen, but I could capture small...

Hello, and thanks for your patience! The rewards are a couple of days late, but here it is. The comic is swimming along well. I'm estimating maybe we'll have another round of these before it's completed? I'm pleased with how much longer I can make these. Really, I could kind of torment Rachel for months, but things have to wrap up eventually.
Page 1 through 14 are included in the .zip file attached to this post.
Also, the back issues are included from 2007 to 2015. And Dog Days is ...

I know I normally post things on the 5th, but I think because it fell on a Sunday, they didn't do their payout normally. If nothing happens today, I'll be posting the rewards tomorrow morning nonetheless.
Thanks for your patience!!

I'm doing these as I know what I want to do next. I don't really have them planned out very far ahead. But I know what direction I want to go for now, so you'll see more of these.

Warmup sketch for Anubis this month. This sketch had more moving parts than I anticipated, but that happens sometimes. Apparently the bunny is a superhero who loses a lot.

As much as it can be. Still more sketchy than finished, but I wanted to put the color on to see the contrast with her fur and the getup she's wearing.

More digital practice, cleaning things up and coloring them a bit, too. I'm just saving things at 100% on my system to have them look good on high quality monitors, now.

While waiting for a social engagement today, I found the time to do some more digital practice. I'm currently playing through the original Dark Souls game, since I never did beat it before (and I've beaten Dark Souls 3 three times). So I decided to draw Lynne wearing the gear my character is currently using.
I'd like to color it up sometime, since I think her bright colors would look good in contrast to the dark color of the armor set.

Did some digital sketch practice after work, seeing how things clean up and save just drawing straight into the computer. Please let me know what you think of this in comparison to the pencil work, if you notice any difference at all, and let me know what you think about the size for saving. I'm trying to anticipate all the ultra-HD jazz coming down the line, and I've found the digital style works better when saved at larger sizes.

Finished this off this morning. I saved it at the size I saved all my old work.

I used this image to work with my new computer setup, getting Photoshop wrangled to my preferences, once again. The trickiest part is working in a 5k monitor that does its best to smooth out the lines of the image while displaying it at full inch dimension, on a screen with such a substantial pixel density. I usually work in 300dpi, but in this case, I worked in 400 and went with a 33% size reduction when saving it as a .jpg. As most applications display at a reduced size, it looks fine, but for...

New work station is in progress. It's going to mean adjusting all my peripherals to the new USB formats and making sure things look decent in 5k. Also I'm hoping to be more mobile with my work, so I'm going back to laptops. Taking the time to get things set up. But happy with it so far. It shouldn't eat into my production too much as I get used to new things over the next few days!

Decided to do a little drawing to mess about with Brooke's body model and try to not stretch it out so much, this time.
Just a quick drawing after work.

It's a new year! It's time for the first reward round for the $6+ tiers, which includes back issues that are over a year old. Dog Days, the first completed comic in 2016, will be included in next month's reward cycle.
For this month, we have the first eight pages of The Gift included as a .zip file attached to this post. And we have the links to the back issues through 2015 below.

Finished this up. My coloring skills probably aren't up to handling the multiple different colored and types of light sources in the image (the red coals of the fire, the yellow flame of the candle, and the white light of the window). In any event, it was relaxing to work on.
