Crimson Dragon - WIP

I have not taken time to paint a nice illustration is so long, I really miss just painting instead of linearting XD  

Anyways, here is a quick color test WIP of an illust I want to do. Whenever I make these illustrations, I usually take more freedom with the color palette in order to make the whole composition more interesting (that's why the dragon looks more gold than red and Kyro has more blue on him). 

I'm trying to not get too married to this (bc I love Kyro's moody...

Banner - WIP

A partial process of the new banner I'm trying to whip out of before SZ returns! As you can see, I tend to paint over/make edits even after the image has been flatted. I have not yet quite figured out an outfit for Clove in this shot but I am hoping it will come to me by the next time I get to working on this! :D

Ep 23 Final vs. Sketch comparison

Hey guys! If any of you were wondering why the update as 20 MIN LATE today, it's partially because of these panels (this strip more like it). I had SOOO many difficulties trying to finish this strip. Usually, this happens when there are new locations and the comic needs to chance scenes but I'm hoping that having already created some of these assets will be easier on me next week.

This was one sad update guys! I was really looking forward to getting more into Kyro's backstory for this! ...

WE HAVE A TRAILER!

GUYS! GUYS! GUYS!  Line actually made a trailer for SZ OMG!  

Look at those dragons! T__________T Seeing them move on the screen like that really blows my mind, whoever spent all that time on this deserves a raise! 

Ofc I think for marketing/intrigue purposes the trailer slightly derails a bit from the actual story-line, but I didn't mind seeing Aaron's glowing fluttering blue eyes one bit! <3

Color Test

Guys I know this is not quality content but I promise I'll post some nice sketches/illusts soon. 

This is a color test for some of clove's outfits (which may/may not be in the upcoming chapter huhu).  I've tried a good couple of diff varieties of this but I always end up sticking to a similar color scheme, huhu maybe in the future I could try some purple. ^^ 

SZ Background Render Process!

Here's another quick preview of a background in an upcoming chapter! (yes I blurred the text bc I don't want anyone to read anything yet) XD  As you can see, I don't have time to paint all my backgrounds so I have to rely on blurs and using sketchup assets instead. In the end I'm never fully satisfied going this route but it looks a bit more painted this way than just leaving everything as a 3D model. Hope you guys enjoy! SZ Coloring Process (Step by Step)

Quick coloring process I thought to share with you guys! I know it's kind of last minute! 

As you can see, I do a lot of crazy steps to get the comic to look the way it does. This is one of the more impressive panels so not every panel receives this kind of treatment! ^^

Exactly 1 year ago I made the crazy, half-brained resolution that I would see my story on the front banner of Webtoons! It worked XD!

WELP! Finally you guys get to see who the little girl is! Originally my plan was to have this scene take place in some normal temperatures but my editor said "Make that child suffer in the cold!" And so, this is what the final rendered version ended up looking like! ^^
