Some character design development for young Ivy and her dad, Ruby.
Trying to figure out how to depict Ivy's once voluminous hair/curls was a bit tricky. These aren't quite final, though - they'll likely need some further streamlining so that they aren't a nightmare to animate.

Just as the BackerKit campaign was launching, I was having to say goodbye to this sweet, dapper guy. Lymphoma took its long, drawn out toll, but it still seemed rather sudden that everything was at its end.
Life's been such a flurry of activity since then - travel, and interviews, and pre-production - I really hadn't had a chance to sit down and process any feelings about it. But, of course, deferred grief all catches up with you eventually.

I'm so sorry I'm sharing this with you a day after launch. I wanted you all to see it first, but we got a bit held up on releasing it because, well, technical issues abound when you have a hard deadline looming overhead.
