Hi,
I have been busy preparing the animated scenes for the first Release V0.2. here is a full res still frame render from one of the scenes. It's a night scene, therefore a bit darker bg.

Hi,
starting with some of the lewd scenes from today. In above screenshot our Captain is monitoring the ship from his camera(s). Purely for safety reasons of course ;)
The composition setup between Blender and DAZ took forever to figure out but now it seems to work nicely, with character blur over matte background and shadows.

- Sequential Features development, like in The Princess, where new releases contain content "after" the content of the previous version. This makes replay from zero a bit dull
- "Expanding" Feature development, where the main storyline would be expanded ...

prior to starting the character cutscenes, I reworked the model of T'Ris a bit, mainly the skin textures (freckles, space-y makeup, glossiness, skin detail, tanlines...).
Looks much less artificial imho.

Hi,
game mechanics in development version almost completed.
Starting with the cutscenes now (first screenshots attached).
I am very happy with how clean the renders are in Blender with very reasonable rendering times (around 5 min per image).
I am going with two stage renders for the entire game. First scene setup and the interior backgrounds are done with Blender, then the same camera angle, focus and lighting is used for character only render in DAZ.

today I packaged the development preview for SJX (D/L for Beta Testers / VIP who registered on Discord Channel).
Contains the sandbox for ship, star system and spacedock as well as intro quest(s) and modules for trading, mining and maintenance.

Would have liked to do an asteroids clone, but for that interactivity Renpy is not so well suited.

I finished the sandbox code, interface code and all the starting rooms today. Now it is possible to :
- walk around all rooms on the ship
- interact with terminals, buttons, ...
- access pda / quest log / gallery
- activate the "use item" function for inventory items
Planning looking good for sandbox and first interface beta test version around christmas...

Hi,
here is a crew room for our spaceship...
Struggled with inclined walls and windows, reflections, cloth simulation, quite a bit...
But I found an excuse to make a lava lamp, which might be useful lateron ;)
Compared to this room the only remaining room (cargo room) will be a piece of cake. All boxes, pipes and square walls.

today I integrated all fixes into V0.9 for release preparation. The Princess Final (0.9b) release can be done one day early 17.12., as there is no full retest necessary.
Also, I completed most items / icons for the space navigation screen. The different locations can be reached depending on ship capabilities and enable different interactions (e.g. mining for raw materials, trade, ...). This more or less "replaces" the portal b...

after assessing the CRQ & feature planning, this is the plan for Space Journey X.
Early Access Releases:
- VIP Tier Release V0.2 in middle January 2023,
- All Access (AA) Tier one to two weeks later (depending on findings)
Official patreon release first week of February.
The beta test will be early January, to have enough time for adjustments. A sandbox beta might be available withing this year.

here is a screenshot of the ships bridge I made today. One more room and I am mostly done and can continue with the mechanics for a first playable demo.

Had to cut / remove all the railings as they would have obstructed the view...

most feedback from the EA V0.9 test phase is imho available now. There are 5 issues to be fixed, I'll do those tomorrow. They all can be fixed save game compatible I think.
Also, some progress on SJX today. I am working on the spacecraft interior and made a hallway segment today. I feel this is x times as difficult as the very basic walls I put together in the Princess, but at least I am improving in blender I hope.
Crew quarters and command bridge are the next difficult...

Hi,
work on SJX is proceeding. I finally finished the hacking mini-game today (similar to Paradroid, if you know it). Took forever but I was so happy with it that I couldn't stop testing it ;)
I also worked on the main room access inside the ship. You can see the room quick access menu top left, the inventory top right and a new "use" widget top right.

while waiting for the feedback from V0.9 Early Access (looking good so far), I continued with SJX work. There is a ton of GUI and game mechanics work to do, there are not many NSFW screenshots at the moment.

I am packaging V0.9a for the All-Access Tier release phase today. One major issue has been fixed compared to V0.9 VIP release, thats why the version is changed (compatible).

today I worked a bit on the first spacecraft interior (engine room). All made in Blender from scratch.
I hope the next locations will be a bit faster.
I was a bit struggling with this one (this was the first sci-fi interior I ever did). Could have worked a bit more on some texures once I get the hang of it...
