It is infuriating sometimes, when my mood is good and have a lot of motivation to draw something new but I can't even get up, just sleep all day. I hope spring comes soon and this whole flu season, including the Corona Virus goes by...

Hmm not really how I imagined it. :/

This is supposed to be a coloring practice, I tried to use very soft, almost invisible outlines, but the result was really bad, so I made them more solid again. Still, this feels more like a prototype. But I like the face at least :3

I always wanted to draw Po from Kung Fu Panda, I LOVE the movies, the sexy voice of Jack Black, Po's cuteness, everything, but thought that drawing him right (especially the eyes) is too difficult for me, so I always just postponed it... till now :3

DEV BLOG 005 - Motion Tweening

I tried motion tweening Richards butt, splitting it to left and right cheek and the tail. Turns out if you have 3 objects, all 3 will have a different motion, based on their size... I haven't figured out how to add a custom motion yet, so in the end I did it mostly frame by frame.
So much to learn~ ♥
I also did a little bulge-bouncing animation :D

Now that the background is finally done, I could start working on Richard.

I think tweening is a good thing and saves a lot of time, but it doesn't replace everything.
I used here light filters (only the white parts, the middle of the face is drawn darker) and took the drawing apart:

- Body
- Eyes
- Sunglasses
- Nose
- Hand

That way I can add a light filter to each part and make it more "3D".

DEV BLOG 003 - Lights (Filter vs Handmade)

It took me a while even with online tutorials till I finally figured out how to add automatic lights to objects. Adobe Animate suggests to use HTML5 as default, but for whatever reason, that one cannot use the "Inner Shadow" filter, which basically is a shadow, but if I turn up the brightness, it becomes light which can save a lot of time in animation. I also added another filter to reduce brightness and contrast.

I added here a practice picture where I tried to match Mabits character the garage scene. He will not be there in the final version, this is really just to practice. 

Quite frankly seeing the character as part of the scene, it gives me a lot of joy to see some good results of my work from the past 2 days. TuT

I figured I could upload some WIPs and my thoughts along the project I am currently working on.

Firstly, everything is still experimental, I am still testing out several programs to see which one fits my needs the best. This one was made in an older version of Adobe Animate, which in my opinion, is far too unnecessarily complicated and eats lots of resources and lacks a few features I need. BUT it's business standard and also offers many other useful things.
