Some completed panels from Chapter 2. I really love how this chapter is turning out. The mood and composition is reflecting just how I imagined it when I first wrote this story. I'm thrilled to say the least.
Page 20 is complete, and 21 is in the works. The next several pages are also story boarded. It will be exciting to show some more WIP's for this next scene, but that will have to wait until next week.

Final part 3 next week.
So I asked my Specialists which alien creature should appear next in the Oasi Bits. The winner was the Jaxwyrm - the creature that bit Digit's fingers off. This is a great pick, but I realized I did not have the concept art for it.
UNTIL NOW! Behold one of the menaces of the Oasian skies.
These nasty things hunt in packs and are a little larger than Earth vultures.
I loved figuring out exactly how these things looked. The main goal was to make something worm-like with win...
I'll be posting this reel to my instagram next week (have not done one for a while), but I also wanted to update my patrons on the book! Also, yes, the last slide is from Chapter 2.
Chapter 2, page 17 is complete, and 18 is underway! AND once these next few pages are done, the next scene will finally show our other main character (Levin). I'mma go cartwheel down a mountain now.

So I fancy Halloween, and each year I do something unique with my art for this holiday. In 2022, I drew Levin and Raina in costume at a party (alternate universe?). People really liked it. So this year, I made a funny comic about them.

Alright, I said I would be posting this completed panel. I really dig how it came out! I think it will be my favorite one for a while.
That being said, I have my next scene story boarded out, and there are some good shots in there. So We'll see which panel remains my favorite!
As for an update, I currently have page 14 complete. Will be working on getting 15 - 20 done here over the next couple weeks.

Raina attempts to haggle, but ends up bartering by begging. A vocabulary lesson was not something I expected to arise from this bit, but here we all are.
Well hello again!
In my previous graphic novel update, I stated that I was going to monitor how consistently I could complete pages on a weekly basis with my new schedule. These past two weeks I have been able to complete over 4 pages. (THAT'S A RIDICULOUS NEW RECORD BTW, MY FRIENDS!!) If I am able to keep a pace of 1.5 - 2.5 pages a week like I have been, I should be ready to publish Chapter 2 by February 2024.

I almost cried when I completed this page because it turned out EXACTLY how I imagined it when I first wrote this scene. I am so thrilled. Most of the time, a piece does not turn out quite how I initially imagine it, but this one is SPOT ON. From the dark, eerie colors to the confusing, upside-down angles, it all came together.

The prologue for chapter 2 is complete, and I'm already hard at work picking up where chapter 1's cliffhanger left off! Storyboarding is complete for the next 6 pages. LET'S GO!
At this rate, I'm hoping to complete chapter 2 by the beginning of this next year (Jan/Feb 2024). I'M SO JAZZED! I'll get more of a solid deadline within the next couple weeks.

Here's an update for the graphic novel!
I've completed page 6. Page 7 is underway (last of the prologue)! I'm excited, as page 8 is where we pick up where the first issue left off. WOOO!!!
I'll have to be more discrete about my visual updates going forward, as I don't want to give away any spoilers.

A shovelhead, or as my husband dubbed "crabosaur" upon seeing it. Shovelheads are another native Oasian creature. These animals share a lot of similarities with earth's arthropods, but are much bigger. How big? Shovelheads are about the size of an African elephant. So... crabosaurus.
And yes, I think they are cute! LET ME THINK IT'S CUTE!

Who doesn't like a little sauce with their explosions? (Turn up brightness for best viewing)
I didn't go heavy with the shading on this - sometimes less is more. All I did was do fine details with my line art and add small highlights. I think it really works for this piece.
