PBC pg.7 sneak peek

Researching this panel made me very sad. This doctor was a leading aids researcher who had written a book about the virus and how it could not mutate around a triple drug therapy… I was very pleased to end up in his care. I wanted to do more than just draw him from memory, but dig as I might, I couldn’t find anything better than one very blurry photograph.

So third in each Dong set will be a rendering of a real person’s Johnson. I’m going to let y’all guess who this is, and I will give hints as needed. The first hint is: porn star.

I don’t talk about it much, or even think about it anymore… but that last panel defined my existence for what felt like forever, but was probably less than a year. It was rough. The volume of inert material in medications back then, plus the sheer amount of pills… meant your body was constantly trying to expel matter it had no use for. Some people did okay with it but I didn’t. Not a fun period, but hey, better than what was happening before, right?

It’s funny, I had made a decision with the last autobiographical story I did a few months ago to not include my own tattoos in the artwork… I get tired of drawing all of them after a while. But of course then this piece comes along and has me paying attention to all my different haircuts over the years, and piercings as well. I might not get to it in time to turn this one in, but I may go back in and add the tattoos at some later point. I didn’t have too many during this period 😅

We watched all the Universal Frankenstein movies this month (my first time) and wove in the Wolf-man films (my second time, William’s first) since the second fits into the Frankenstein timeline. The continuity of this shared universe is actually pretty impressive.

What I been doin

Today I submitted my finished work for the anthology I mentioned recently. Unless the editors have changes for me, I am done! The last I heard, the kickstarter for it will be next month. I’m not allowed by contract to share the pages until a year after publication date, so if you don’t want to wait until then, you’ll need to get a copy of the anthology!
