Opinion on Motion Capture for creating animation?

Do you guys think utilizing motion capture assets (for example like running, jumping or any recorded movement by real human actor wearing mocap suit) for creating an animation content is considered "cheating" for an animator?

FUTALITY Ep.4 FINAL WIP

Just a quick update on Futality Ep.4. All animations are done and rendered; I think it took almost 20 hours of non-stop rendering in total. Now I am working on adding SFX sound and do some video editing for x-ray and stuffs. Have also reached out to two voice actresses to voice the animation, one as the twins and the other as the Ballbreaker Empress. BTW the animation duration is going to be approximately around 5 -6 minutes!!

Long Animation vs Short Animation?

Just want to hear your thoughts, do you guys prefer I do short animation (0-2 minutes) which I can consistently release consistently every month or long animation (above 2 minutes) which may take more time to make?

FUTALITY Ep.4 WIP 2

Heyo guys, hope you enjoyed your weekend, as usual here's the weekly progress update on FUTALITY animation. CB Animation - Un Fleur GRAB! WIP 3 - X ray

I am sharing you the X-Ray for this animation. After intense discussion with the commissioner of this animation, we agreed that rose should symbolize Nami's delicate pussy perfectly. I feel like I am getting better in creating X-ray! re-learn some particle system and also learnt how to apply outline to the model as you can see from the hand and the rose. Hopefully this will improve both Nami and Robin model in the animation.

Hey guys, here is some more WIP update for you guys! taken from actual shots from the CB animation. looking good so far, I would say animation should be 40-50% there, there will be some more work to do on the model though, especially on Robin and some more animation polishing. I guess polishing will go in parallel with commissioning a voice actress to voice the animation.

If you noticed, there some quality improvement on Robin's model, and that is due to a new Genshin Impact shader that I purchased from art station. My Original X-Ray Effect

The x-ray is one of the most sought-after animation effects by many of my supporters. I created one with some video editing tricks in FUTALITY Episode 1 utilizing the original clip of Cassie's nutcracker x-ray move from the MK games but realized the massive limitation of it. 

Hence, I did some research, play around with Blender, and watches some tutorial to come up with my own version of x-ray and thus, this x-ray effect is born. Rejoice! ~

As usual, I am sharing with you the scene shots as WIP for Futality Episode 3. The Final Fantasy 7 model turns out to be quite heavy to use compared to the previous overwatch model. I guess it is something to do with the number of polygons and texture resolution since the model is semi-realistic and all, but I am trying my best to make it work!
