Originally I wanted to squeeze in a moment earlier in the comic that usually Alma isn't a hug person, but I couldn't manage to fit it nicely!

I had so much trouble on the second panel! In pencil it worked quite well, but once all the colours started fighting for attention I had to figure out a way to keep the illusion of depth! I tried So many things, and eventually resorted to blurring the foreground, but it's something i try not to do, because I don't think it fits the style well! My usual rim lighting strategy looked so strange, because the light is coming from behind their heads, so that was out! You can also see I added a dark...

Also, apologies for being a bit quiet this week, Josie had a brief vet scare and the vets are closed here so I kinda spent a day just following her about, stopping her from scratching a sore patch >:I, she seems alright though, hopefully it's nothing!

It's always a bit more of struggle with this flatter style to get the focus correct, especially with so many high contrast plants competing for attention! I'm actually using a few texture layers to try and add more depth (see behind Roman and behind the wisteria panel of the door)

Roman to the rescue?

It's usually not worth making a gif, but there were a lot of steps here, so I figured it'd be cool to see! 

I almost always choose quite bright colours, so I tried for something more muted this time, I wanted it to feel more like winter or spring sunshine!

You can see the faces wobble a lot as I try to figure them out- I made the mistake of not using any references for this piece, apart from the concepts of the kitchen, and it kinda shows!
