I'm not sure what's going on with the tags recently- it seems to be not filtering correctly, despite everything being quite neatly categorised, and I'm sorry if that makes things difficult to navigate :S, I'm hoping its a patreon problem that'll fix itself!

Alex actually pre-dates the whole cast of charity case ;P they're an old OC I never used much! They're an impressionistic fine artist in their free time- and boss lets them put up art shows in the shop sometimes.

Hermit & Hiker- Ink experiments 2 & test page

I decided the finick-ey ness of screentones wasn't worth the hassle, I couldn't get the effect I wanted with them! I realised I could add noise to a regular grey to give it some texture, and that's what the last test page is!

I've crossed some out that I don't like, but feel free to ask any OC any question! As always I can't do all of them, but I'll try choose a selection and work from them! (like I won't just draw them answering the questions, that wouldn't be very spicy...)

Depending on how it goes, I might keep this for next month too, I'm getting very thin on ideas haha. (I've drawn them all doing so many things already :P)

Comic process update

Hiya! Just a post to let you know that I'm going to change the way I produce pages- recently I've been doing two pages from scratch every week, but I think it's affecting my pacing  negatively! I'm going to start sketching pages in batches, to try and get them to flow better, instead of starting new every week!
This won't affect much, but there will be a week (like this week!) where I'll be sketching and maybe flatting a little, which means I won't get any full pages out!

Hermit & Hiker- Val's house concepts 3 & ink experiments

I think I'm going to settle on the nib style of the second to last page, with the forest! As much as I love the brushier ink, it really bothers me how much detail I lose and how unpredictable it is (see the half finished kitchen inks haha) I like the fineness of the nib, and also it's a lot less strain to use because theres very limited pressure! (though whether I'll make up the strain with excessive hatching is yet to be seen) 

It's taken absolutely forever to find something I eve...

Howl's Moving Castle screencap redraw

I ended up going back in at the end and redoing some of Sophies face with a bigger brush, because she felt too detailed in comparison to the rest.
I didn't colour pick any of this, which is why it's so much brighter! And obviously my focus on detail is super loose, mostly I just wanted to do something fast and fun tonight :), it took around 2 and 1/2 hours. To begin with I just blobbed a load of likely colours in likely places, often that gives more life to pieces than carefully choosing e...

It's nice getting familiar enough with the characters that the sketches can be so loose. At first it felt like if I didn't have a really detailed sketch I'd get the likeness wrong. (then again, I did mess up the sleeve continuity, so maybe I SHOULD have sketched better)
