I love drawing characters after they've been in brain-stew phase for so long, it feels like they evolve in my head, whereas Roman and Marnie were both used straight away and their designs are only just now feeling solid and easy to draw consistently!

With any luck I'll get another page out today, I've had two days of my week stolen by family events, so I'm a little behind!

I realised that Juliens glasses mysteriously disappeared in the last two pages, so I popped them back on again in these edited versions. I figured it would be good to post it all together, since it's been made over Such a long time!

Made myself do a proper background for this page! I feel like it was losing grounding, with all the close ups and abstract stuff!

I wanted to make it feel more montage-y here, so I used the circles and faded the lyrics out a little! I want it to seem like he sings more than one song, since that's something that bothers me about other gigs in comics/media! One song left after this :>.

I quite like this song hehe. I'm not a songwriter, but it's fun trying to come up with something semi-convincingly real.

Originally I wanted the spotlight to hit the crowd directly, following a line from the panel above, but it looked a bit off, so I faded the effect and made a sorta purple circle to draw attention to Roman and Marnie so they weren't lost in the crowd!

Honestly, though I like this page artistically, I think it could have done with another panel of them moving through the crowd! Pacing is probably my weakest point, but hopefully I'll get better in time :')

Inktober Process 2019 Part 2

Again, sorry for the quality!

You can see with the Julien one, I outlined where I wanted the highlights before I filled in the black of the trousers, since the shiny-ness is the most important part of depicting leather!

Inktober Process 2019 Part 1

The next ones are less in depth, but I thought it might be handy to see each step, at least to start out! I tend to do a sketch, then erase it (really...) til I can barely barely see it, before covering it in the posca marker. Having the sketch photo to refer to is quite handy, because it's very hard to see where things were sup...

October sketch poll

Hiya! So while this month is probably going to be a lot of traditional sketches from inktober, I still wanted to do a monthly poll! Last month pokemon AU almost tied with animal crossing, so I thought I'd give it another chance!


($3 patrons should get some wip's from the inktobers tomorrow!)

Pokemon AU would be one or more of the cast with their fav pokemon, in a more pokemon-appropriate outfit (maybe gym leaders!?)

It's getting into cheesy music video territory, with the colourful lighting and zooms! I hope it works, it's hard to keep the feeling of energy sometimes, and to me it feels a little flat after staring at it for 3 hours, but I'm hoping it's still there for readers! I actually took out one of the faces from the initial plan, because it felt SO over the top :P.

I decided to hand-write the text in the end, to make it more distinct, and so I could emphasise when I needed to!
