Concept Design

A local game shop contacted us and wants to commission a giant Dragon Head Trophy they can mount on the wall in their store. I played around with some designs before settling on this one based on all the elements they were interested in. I juuuuust sent off the concept art to them so it'll be a few hours before they see it but I'm excited to see what they think.

Got the ears and horns 3D modeled, just waiting for approval from the customer! Please ignore the back of the ears, my software was being and I didn't feel like fighting it.

The horns are a bit smaller/thinner than I'd like/the ref but there isn't a lot of real estate thanks to those big ears. I might play with them a bit more but everything is already pretty crowded.

Got the ears mostly sculpted! I just need to fix up the transition between the headbase and the ears. I really wanted to finish this now but my tablet is at 5% battery so I need to let it charge for a few hours. Once I finish sculpting the ears it will be onto the horns!

Got the mini test print done and once the customer approves it I will 3D model the mold and get it queued for printing. In the meantime I cut out the paws that were appliqued earlier this past week and started the assembly.

Taxes and Fursuits

Hey folks, I apologize for the radio silence but I didn't think taxes would make for particularly interesting content. With my taxes largely completed fingers crossed I'm getting back to work in the studio. To kick things off I 3D modeled the headbase for my next commission; a Dutch Angel Dragon!

 The character is deceptively simple, being largely just two colours, but the devil is in the details, as the third colour is made up entirely of small and complex marking...

Mountain of applique

We did a mountain of appliquing today, which is the process of top stitching minky pawpads onto fur. We also cut all those pawpads out and have begun assembling them into paws. While the chance of us getting a table at FE is almost zero it never hurts to be prepared. Plus uts always a good idea to have stock on hand must in case a last minute con pops up.

I'm having a bit of a colour conundrum as the colour I'd used for the hair on this premade wasn't quite the shade I remembered, throwing off the entire colour scheme. I've been starting at swatches for literal hours trying to decide what not only looks best but matches the overal vibe I'd wanted to go for. Since I've already used platinum on the neck I'm locked in with that colour (unless I want to remake it), a colour that now feels far to pale. Beside the greys I'm also trying to decide if ...

March Monthly Bonus - Pawpad Embroidery & Applique Files

Hey folks! As promised we're releasing this month's Monthly Bonus a little early to make up for being late last month! We just finished up these sockpaws for an FE pre order. Sadly we are still very much waitlisted, so it is highly unlikely we'll be going. Normally, every year for the con, we make a few premades, and while we won't be attending this year, I still want to make a premade. The only question is which one?

February Monthly Bonus - Digitigrade Bodysuit [Padding Tutorial]

This took a lot longer to edit than I was hoping, but alas I am done! I do apologize for being late on the delivery, and to make it up to everyone I'll try to get March's Monthly Bonus out early. For March, I intend to release updated versions of either the handpaw pattern and/or sockpaw pattern as I've made some improvements to those patterns that I'd love to share with everyone. Today has been a DAY. I was supposed to finish the patreon tutorial today but instead I spent all day fixing my 3D printer after it had a catastrophic failure while printing a badge for Zion. Since Zion's suit needs to be sent out asap I had to prioritize the printer.

What should have been a simple fix of replacing the hotend turned into an all day afar when klipper gave me error after error. I tried swapping the print head assembly with a brand new one I had bought as a backup but as ...
