I can't tell you guys in words how ready I am to be done with Volume #1. I want it to be done and over with, so I can send it to the publisher, finish up Riley #9, draw BorderlineAxo's character sheet, and then get back to working on regular comics. I've been wanting that for... months. And I'm sure you have too.

This weekend I took my usual break from updating comic pages to draw something else and I ended up delving once more into the wild world of animation. Then I made a thing for you all assuming that Patreon had an easy way to host short videos. It does not. And neither does FA? Like... what are these sites even doing, it's 2023 already nobody's posting STATIC images, data storage is practically free, AI is making artists irrelevant, get with the program already GAWDS!!!

Today's preview comes from Page 41... I kinda decided it needed a complete redo of all of its lines. I don't know what I was thinking, but for a few pages in early Chapter 3 my linework got super thick and like, EXTRA sloppy? It looks awful to me, even compared to many of the pages in Chapter 2.
The problem, of course, is that if I fix the lines, I have to then fix the flats (which you can see I haven't done yet in this preview), and if I fix the flats I have to redo the shading and lig...

Sorry this is late, today ended up being pretty busy and I didn't want to post it without including SOME kind of art. Annd so I drew Riley. Because of course I did. Having ridiculous hair does not exempt anyone from self-care!

Why, hello there!
I have some good news! Last week I was getting kinda discouraged with redrawing some of those early pages for Volume #1. Early Chapter 2 (the first few pages with Max,) make me sad, and much like I did for Kiera on Page 3, I wanted to give the character a proper introduction in the book. So a little bit of news, I've asked the Patreon admins to swap my account from 18+ to All Ages and they have approved the request. The reason being because the credit card companies are forcing Patreon to impose more restrictions on 18+ creators, and since I don't draw anything that's strictly 18+ here, I figured there's no reason for me to subject myself to those new restrictions. I'm still banging my head against this comic page, but it isn't ready yet like I'd hoped it would be, so I offer this humble sketch instead.
Riley comic #6 is coming this week, maybe Friday or Saturday. This background is just being a huge pain. Probably going to need to learn entirely new techniques to get it to look right, but that'll be good if I do because then I can apply them to other things later on.

Spent a huge chunk of the day helping over at Fenris Publishing, so pardon my lateness. They were having a major, major delivery today and needed some extra hands, and I volunteered.
When we get our book ready for print this year, we probably won't print or sell NEARLY as many copies as the one they just received. I wouldn't want to anyway. Another week, another weekly update!
Chapter 1 is finished. Officially, at long last, and is ready to go in the book. Volume 1 is going to include chapters 1-4, so there's still a ways to go, and it's slow, grinding work, sadly.
Chapter 4 shouldn't need a ton of work, but Chapter 3 definitely has a fair few pages that could use some serious updating. I don't know about Chapter 2... it seems sorta okay, for the most part.

It's interesting to me, going through all these old pages as I update them for Volume #1. Each and every page I open up is like a miniature time-capsule from 2018. I open the page, there's 70 or 80 mysterious unnamed layers and who even knows what I drew on any of them? Some are entire panels on their own and some of them are even blank! It's very exciting.
And that's primarily the reason most pages are going to receive minor touchups only. I'll redraw only the panels that are in desper...
