I've probably mentioned it a hundred times by now, but Kiera's appearance in this comic was one of my first REAL attempts at drawing an actual female. I want her to look sexy and cute, but it's taking a lot more time and a lot more practice to get her to look right.
I have to draw a LOT of her for Chapter 4, so... here's a Kiera practice sketch from this week. :3 Had this idea where she's pulling her hair back to look at Kiva. This was the first of many more attempts.

Wooo, spent most of last week on it, but I think I'm finally satisfied with the script I've written for Chapter 5. I like the new direction I'm taking for Riley. I think she's going to be an important addition to the story now, and an interesting way to reveal a part of Kiva's character I haven't really gotten to touch on much yet. Time to turn all my focus towards finishing drawing Chapter 4, then I can start finalizing the script for Chapter 6!

Lately it's been taking me a full 5-6 days to make a single comic page. I'm thankful to HAVE the freedom to spend all my time drawing, and it feels like my effort is paying off. Something a bit different today... it's always interesting to me to hide different layers from finished art and see what comes out of it. This is an image of Kiva leaning against a wall... but... without the lines to hold it all together.
