Keep moving !

This is maybe the most oftenly used and important guidance I give a model during the shooting. Quite often a model tries to pose perfectly, stand still for a moment to give the photographer the chance to take the shot and then moves on to the next pose.

This is not, how I like the model to perform as this means she offers a more or less big portfolio of trained poses but will never show her personality or act authentically.

Therefore, I try to have a photo set like a stage in a ...

Home Office - the location

For my "Get it all" tier members - here's the location for the "Home Office" series. Actually it's a hotel suite with a marvelous view on the river Rhein. The big window goes to the west, so especially in the afternoon you have plenty of light - if the sun comes out, with nice lights and shadows by the blinds.

Breakfast with Rebecca

Rebecca is one of my favorite models - She only needs few input to understand the shooting idea and - what's even more important - feels comfortable in sensual situations as well as in "fashion nude" shootings...

How I develop a shooting idea

When I meet with other photographers I quite often get asked how I select models for my shooting ideas. Actually the process to prepare my shootings is quite the opposite direction. As I don't shoot commercial projects for e.g. the fashion industry, I'm not looking for the right model to implement a specific project. The process begins with an agreed shooting with a model I'm interested in.

So typically the first things I know are the model and the date.

From there, I start thin...

An other world - location

In March I was in Antwerp for a shooting trip. One of the locations I used for shooting is a BDSM club. Actually my biggest fear about shooting in such a location was that the pictures must not look vulgar and cheap. Therefore I appreciated the luxurious design and high quality equipment.

I planned a girl/girl shooting there - and found with @Christall4 a model which is used to do shootings in that atmosphere. The second part in this duo was @Mrs.Manouk. She is a dominatrix and modeling...

Berlin - the location

Just for my "Get it all" - members, here's the location we used for the "Berlin"-series. It was definitely low light and therefore I tried to use all the electric light you can see on the pictures. Even though it was a cold December morning, I think there is not much better light on a sunny summer day. But if you like the mood of this mixed light situation, it's definitely a recommended location. And - what's most important from the model's point of view - there is enough heating power to eve...

Throwback to Summer

The shooting with @Nausicaa was a challenge - the first approach had to be cancelled by me due to other business obligations. It was worth to wait and keep trying ...
