It's like an entire livestream compressed into 5 seconds.  Sometimes it's fun to start with linework, sometimes it's fun to just start painting features on a skin colored canvas.

Patreon Update!

The most important part of this Patreon is still the Youtube videos.  As Patrons, you guys can have the most input on what type of videos I will be making.  The weekly youtube streams have been fun, but I think we'll try to get more focused content going as well.  I will still stream weekly (usually more) on Twitch, but I think the Youtube Channel will aim for a new schedule.

Patron Collection Mar/2015

Here are a few of the $12 tier rewards from this past month. I'm still behind on some, so apologies for the delay. Some unexpected sickness messed up my schedule this month. I went with a slightly cartoony, big head, little body, highly rendered style this week. It was fun, but a bit more time consuming. April's might be more simple, we'll see!

Random February Bonus Prize!

Along with the standard random art giveaway, I thought it would be fun to try and do a random bonus prize every month. Quick update for people giving $12 and up

Just wanted to say that it originally specified a personal sketch would be done only on the first payment, but I changed it to say it would be monthly as long in case you wanted more than one crappy sketch of yourself (or your grandma, or whatever?). Anyway, I will email you all at the start of the month and ask for a reference picture and whether you want the sketch shared publicly or privately. Be scared.

Typical sketch practice

I like to imagine faces from as many angles as I can, making a bunch of boxes in perspective and then filling them with heads is a fun exercise for that, try it out!

Jenny Saville studytime

Just an example of some artist studies. You can download the full size if I it doesn't show by clicking that blue box below the picture. This is my normal course when I find an artist I really like. Study snippets of their work that you find interesting. Then try to test what you learned when doing something from imagination. This artist was Jenny Saville.
