Interesting to look back on these early issues... that first arc was heavily influenced by Miller/Mazzuchelli's "Batman Year One" and the "Born Again" Daredevil arc. I put some of my own touches in, I was training with some Highland Games athletes and had gone through a Citizen's Academy class with the Minneapolis Police Department.

Hearts & Iron #6 "The King of Stones" Previews

The continuation of the "Entwined Lives" arc has been on the back burner for years... finally focused on getting it done. Here are the inside front cover, page 1, and the rough pencils for page 2. In this, the spirits of Kallikrates and Ioannes move from Greece to the Viking era to incarnate as a Norseman and an Irishman, and we hear the tale of a contest of strength, in "The King of Stones."

I was revising this rough for the next to last page in Project Herc a bit. The Project soldiers have exhausted their ammo against super strong John and laid down their arms, and John has shot his big load. He'll lay down some new rules at the Project HQ.
