Going to keep this short. Pretty busy these days, spreading my time between

You're getting my weekly update early, since I'm clearing my schedule for the launch this weekend. ^^
Since we're doing Megail's route, I'm doing a lot of work on the economic side of the game. It's not the most exciting to talk about, but I think you'll be interested to hear some of the issues that go into designing it. This is just what's on my mind as I work, so we'll see how rambly it is.

The public release is out, but there's a lot more going on for backers.

So, if you've played version 0.10.0, you know that the party is split into four groups. This is exactly the sort of thing I think should be put to a vote. In the completed game you'd be able to choose the three routes in any order and then do Simon's route, but I can only create one at a time. Decent progress this week. I'm not as confident as usual that I'll definitely be done by next weekend, but I don't anticipate any delays. I wanted to go back and finish up some lingering issues (like the lack of quest log entries for fetch quests) but some of those may have to wait for next time so this version can have all the little touches I want. Lots of character stuff and things that change depending on your previous actions.

This week had a ton of up and downs. You may or may not have heard about how Patreon had a problem with charging cards. It's resolved now, but it was a little alarming at first and people who rely on Patreon income had some unpleasant times. I've been a little coy about my situation lately, but only because I didn't want to waste anyone's time with things that might or might not happen. It's all settled now, though, so I'm afraid it's time for a not so great announcement.

This week I spent a bunch of time updating old areas. Some will have new events or quests, but for many of them I'm just filling out the world. I was always disappointed with RPGs where you advance the plot and no one says anything different.
I plan to keep changing NPCs throughout the game. It's nothing critical, but hopefully that will give your actions some more weight. One of my goals with this game has always been that it won't just say, "You rule everything and have all the money and wome...

So, eventful week. Updating all the threads and responding to comments took longer than I thought. Still working through some stuff, expect an update next week. Low creative ebb, but it's amazing that we hit $1000 and haven't dipped below yet, even with end-of-month dropping.

Alright, mid-week update to decide some things. I'm not sure if I should release 0.8.1 this weekend or the next - there's a trade-off between more time to polish and more delay overall. Key question: do we have anyone intentionally waiting to play 0.8.1? If so, I'd put it out early - maybe for all patrons as a bonus for all the faithful $1 supporters.
