Thank You from this Aurin

Ahh, Wildstar. It had some really nice art, and some unusually attractive ladies. Fortunately for me the private servers have actually become quite stable, so at least I can run around as an Aurin again.

I'd like to draw the occasional Aurin again, because they are different enough to what I usually draw to be interesting to me. They'll probably end up getting shorter and shorter with repeated drawings though, as is the curse of my current ability.

Takke 13 Animation + Bonus

This was one of the harder pieces to put together, surprisngly. There's two seperate groups of layers, one for her upper body, and one for her lower body (and one arm), so that I could offset the motions a little.

There's definitely a few little visual glitches here and there due to it being a bit of a nightmare to get things to line up between these layer groups. Generally though I'm happy with how it looks and I learned a bit about setting up this type of animation.

Satyr 01

I've had this Satyr lady for a while and have never actually drawn her. I mean, the reason is because Elora, who I will most likely promptly return to drawing after this. But for now here is this other Satyr.

Unshiu 03 + Bonus

I'm convinced there's probably some wayward errors on these variations, this was a nightmare of layers and masks and groups. Still, whilst I didn't need to draw an iteration of the "A" piece with the "E" piece, I am worryingly in to this concept so I wanted to get more mileage out of the scene. I mean really this is just me running my last Unshiu piece back for another attempt anyway.

Tiger 01 + Bonus + Kestrel Reference

I wanted to take the opportunity to get some character designs finalised so that I can actually use them in illustrations and animations in future. I'm finally happy with how my Tiger looks, after the third attempt at it over the years, and this bird has been sitting in my sketch program for about two months now. It goes without saying that the two of them are probably only a bit over a metre tall.

I'd been meaning to draw this small lady for a while. The "Thank You" doodle seemed like a good place to break the ice.

Regarding the poll, it's impressive, though perhaps not surprising, that the two Asura are leading the Poll by a wide margin. One would think I'm some sort of Asura artist. Still, I look forward to (very likely) creating a new Animation of Takke!

October Illustrations

I tend to have this moment during the end of the month where I will look at my recap posts, and see that, for example, that I haven't drawn any Kobolds this month, after which I will vow to make up the deficit the next month. This will inevitably lead me to over doing it, after which I will end up having the same realisation that I haven't drawn some other thing at all for the next month.

I suppose my point is I'm often aware of those characters I haven't drawn in a while.

Tassi 05 + Bonus

My yearly duty has been complete.

I was irrationally excited to see that Tassi had receieved a bit of an update this year. Her eyes are orange now and her clothing is coloured differently. It's nice that she's not a generic Priory NPC anymore, but it has made my previous drawings of Tassi incorrect now.

Netto 12 + Bonus

I remembered that Asura can have stripes and that Cats also tend to have stripes and well would you look at that.

Well, Plunka seems set to win the animation poll, so I figured I would draw her for the Thank-You as well. I'd had this pose laying around for... a long time, initially it was going to be Takke, but having decided her boobs aren't actually that big, the sketch never ended up being used. Until now!

Midna 05 Animation

The pose is a little different than the sketch I showed a month ago, but I think it's fundamentally the same as what I was imagining. That said, this has definitely been a case of what I feel was a good pose not translating too well in to motion. It might be that Midna is ruinously complex to draw and getting all of her various markings to move from frame to frame in a decent way is tricky. Also animating such a bundled up pose is hard.
