Been exploring its skin today evening, definitely there are a lot of work ahead.
And yep, let's make a recognizable style to the project, because that's a shame that for a long while it had none.
From now on there will be more digital stuff coming, including concepts and illustrations.

I've decided to put more time and thought into this one, so here is the result~
The thing is that I've come to conclusion that smooth skin is too simple solution for all beasts to wear. First of all calloused skin will prevent moisture loss, and the second reason - it will serve as a protection from harsh environment of Reagkhay (such as weather, temperature deviation, rough, rigid and even sharp edges of plants - there are a lot of them, - collapsed stone peaks etc.)

Also, I've found female Ancient from the last year... just to compare to *nervously laughs*
So I'm really trying to return to my projects. It just feels so pointless and miserable from times to times that my mental health became unstable to the point when I want to quit it all to the point when I'm capable of everything. The first one holds for quite a while, and the last one... well, it sees light sometimes if something or someone not pushes it back.
Hmm, actually, now I feel myself much better.

I believe once or twice I've mentioned a connection between Ancients and Idols, did I? I hope I did.
So... the thing is very complicating, yet here is what I can say for now to not to spoil that much of a plot: Reagkhay is not the Ancients' home planet. In fact none is.
Think about the planet as a testing ground, an old-old one. In fact, it isn't even a planet. Even Gkhalarer themselves (it's how the Ancients call themselves, original name of their species) have no suspicion...

Here is a rough idea of another animal for the long gone planet. I really want to play a little bit more with "hooves" (aka exaggerated nails), and I think it definitely has a potential.

Parasites, pests... you name it.
The point is that they eat everything what planet is made of. Including Ancients' ships and other structures, which are made of frame threads and which are the result of purification of frame plants (which grow on the surface of Reagkhay).

And here it is! Took a bit longer than I thought, yet I think it was worth it.
This short comic will give an answer to one question that I've been asked frequently by friends, so instead of constant repeating myself now everyone will be able to find themselves how the interaction between animals of Reagkhay actually works~
