Got a fun one this time! This scene involved a number of developmental sketches. Many of them are, of course, just minor variations on each other, but I thought this look at the process might be interesting. Attaching below to avoid spoilers.

Today's Behind the Scenes article will be talking the first of our two protagonists! Julian's an interesting guy with some depths you've already seen and some that will continue to unfold as the story progresses. Alongside Ash, he was some of the first visual art completed and ultimately did a lot to define UNDER | HEAVEN's visual style- and also went through a lot to get there.

Welcome to the april development update! I'm happy to report that work has generally been proceeding smoothly. At the time of this writing, chapter 2 is playable and essentially feature-complete minus some last-step polish (like color grading, below) that isn't possible without completed assets. Assets have been coming along great; all sprites are at least drafted and there are multiple finished backgrounds and CGs. No spoilers today, but there's some stuff in the works that ...

Quick note: You might notice that there's one CG where 'full resolution' is the same size as the game resolution. In this case, that's just the canvas size that it was drawn at. In the future, they'll generally be double resolution or higher.
