I wanted to take another crack at some proper cartography! Well, almost. I have shirked a compass rose and distance rulers and probably a few other things, but it was for a good cause. I have tried to capture the *feeling* of a proper cartographic map while giving you control over the scale, orientation, and labelling. Did I succeed?
You might be wondering how I came to name it "Arvyre" and if it means anything. In short, no. The only meaning it has is that it sounded cool to my 13-year...

56 assets salvaged from the Arvyre map. Many of these are simple islands, but I think the parchment background will be particularly useful to some of you, and the settlement assets compliment out other packs at this scale nicely.
These come in 300 DPI and Roll20- and Fantasy Grounds-optimized formats, ready for your virtual tabletop or image editor of choice.

Inside your ZIP file you will find the base map and seven map variations. I tried to create two cartographic maps and then three more realistic seasonal variants; summer and spring, autumn / fall, and winter.

Are there any other styles you would like to see for future regional maps? Please link a reference image and I may give it a shot!

Troy and I sat down a few days ago to design a unique "micro-dungeon" for his upcoming article. I don't want to give too much of it away yet, but suffice to say we settled on this winding tunnel; the grave of a humongous snake where kobolds have moved in to care for its still-live eggs.
Taking the results of our brainstorm I settled in with pen and paper and rather spontaneously decided to take another crack at what I've labelled in my brain as the "Darkest Dungeon style," which essenti...

- Desert

- Obsidian
- Underwater
- Ice
I hope that is a good variety and that there's one here that suits your specific idea. Enjoy!

You know, I'm not sure why I decided to draw a giant tortoise. I just find something so charming and mystical about a lumbering animal so large that you could build a house on its back, and so I drew just that.
Our turtle's back may bear a simple palm tree in the base map, but it is plenty large enough for you to overlay one of our buildings. It's so large, in fact, that the shell alone is almost as big as our standard map size! Thus, this sea turtle battle map is a gargantuan 44x32" la...

- A great snapping turtle meandering through the lilies.

Your lantern bobs on its hook as you ease the skiff through the waters heavy with lily pads, flanked on all sides by darkness and the drone of countless frogs and insects.
A few weeks ago I drew the settlement of Fog's Reach. This, you may have noticed, has a vast lily-laden body of water in its background. In my mind Fog's Reach is a frontier town at the edge of the dangerous jungle wilderness and reached by crossing a wetland. Well, I thought that wetland needed a map!

An outpost at the fringe of civilization where no man wishes to live, but the yearn for adventure compels him to go.
I'm going with something of a jungle theme lately, and I wanted to link my upcoming river crossing map with the rest of them. What came of it was this town map, which divides the lily-pad-strewn swamp and the tall jungle trees. I call it Fog's Edge, because I imagine that the fog never quite leaves.
Additional Patreon rewards:
Inside the attached ZIP you will find the 21 map assets featuring the bits and bobs that make up our latest town map in a trio of roof colors.
I have also included shadow-free variants in case you'd like to flip these without breaking consistency with the shadows. Thanks for the suggestion, Mystarseed!
