So, we spent 3 nights in an off grid Air BnB in Joshua Tree, California--about 12 minutes from the National Park's west entrance. It was such a cool space; we had no problem coming back from our excursions to just chill and enjoy being present. No TV, spotty WiFi, and a rad record collection created a beautiful time together as well as an opportunity to capture some great light on her body.....
(And, then we arrived back home to the COVID-19 chaos, and have been hunkered down ever...

Wow! How crazy are things? Even though our world is in turmoil (to say the least). There seems to be an immediate positive impact on the environment. And even families! We've been seeing a lot of families riding bikes, walking dogs, and going to the park. Distanced smiles and waves to others of course....
Maybe Earth needed a break from us and society need a reset. What do you make all of this?

We had planned to do quite a bit of "content creating," but were really uninspired--couldn't find the vibe, having trouble finding angles, and not-at-all feeling the photos we were making....
After leaving the Park to make dinner at the Air BnB, storm clouds and low thick fog moved in about 2 hours after we had called the day.
That fog provided the perfect Joshua Tree mood by which to juxtapose a nude ;).
Though not the most naked set we've created, we are reall...

So Astrid (@sirenethereal) is currently on a months long Art Model tour. And, thankfully for us, her first stop was in Phoenix. Even more thankfully for us, we were recommended to her by one of Phoenix's most established photographers Shantia Veney. In fact our shoot with Astrid was our first shoot of 2020. We think it turned out great, loved the light the we got. We hope you'll enjoy this set too.
Oh, BTW we are headed back to Joshua Tree today. Goin...

If you follow us on Instagram (@thenakeddesert), you might be aware that Instagram deleted our model portfolio/back-up account (@thenakeddesertphoto) with no warning. We've been trying to appeal, but we also are pessimistic. So we started another: @nakeddesertphotography. Give it a follow if you want to see the models we shoot, and just in case our main acct gets deleted.

Did we tell you we were super excited for our shoot this past Sunday? Probably more than once. Ha!
Here's a preview that's already been released on Denielle's IG (@elle.ohhh.elle). We'll probably drop another on @thenakedsdesertphoto sometime this week. But, you'll probably have to be patient for her set to drop on our Patreon. We are going to take our time with the edits. You'll probably want to upgrade your subscription as well. Just saying ;...

Gave us an extra day to get our final Senita Tier post in....
Between two wedding ceremonies, family travel to NYC, tons of family and celebration, and a ton of pix (non-nude) to edit and share, we haven't really had time to focus on The Naked Desert work. But, starting tomorrow, we'll be back on our game and hope to regain our momentum creating The Naked Desert art. In fact,we are headed back to Arcosanti to shoot a model very soon, and we are lining up other shoots ...

...if you are into consumer driven holidays ;)
We typically don't do special holiday sets (like them girls on OnlyFans) not that there is anything wrong with that (or them for that matter). Sometimes they just appear forced and cliche. We'd rather stay in our lane and try to find a nice and natural desert composition to put a Nude into--like this shoot with Rebekah over in Arizona's famous Superstition Mountains.
Our next two weekends are taken up wi...

We are featuring Rebekah up next! She was newish model, eager to work with us. And yes, it was her first time getting naked in the desert and we got some beautiful color cast from the sunset onto her skin. To see more of her you may want to consider upgrading to the Saguaro Tier ;)

Sorry, for the silence this week. We've all been under the weather.
For this mini-set, we are showing you a little more of the unique place: Arcosanti. We really like that "circle room", not only because of the cool design feature but also because we can count on a nice, flat and soft light that provides a mood. But as you can see by the last two images there's plenty of other unique features about this place.
Consider this a preview. We'll be back ...

Thanks for your January pledges!
Arcosanti is one of our favorite places to shoot. It is the unfinished dream of Paolo Soleri, who sought to blend architecture with ecology. It didn't quite work out, but its a place with a lot of character. And, therefore a place to shoot some Nudes. Ha!

Our Patrons have spoken! You voted for us to post an uncensored image from our main IG acct: @thenakeddesert.
Over MLK Day weekend we headed south to the Organ Pipes Cactus National Monument--one of the most surreal and unique places in Arizona. In fact, we don't think Organ Pipes cacti exist too much outside of the area. Though for a while this National Monument was deemed the most dangerous National Park in the nation, given its close proximity to the AZ/MEX border and th...

We had planned to get into Joshua Tree a lot earlier than we did. We were staying at such a unique place that we spent all morning shooting--in a building nonetheless--a much different type of shoot for us. But, we enjoyed it, and we captured some bangin' nudes. After our hikes we came back and shot again. Practice makes perfect :)
This is a different set than is typical for The Naked Desert. Let us know what you think :)

It was Crissa's first time shooting nude in the Arizona desert. We took her to the Salt River and told her we might see some of the wild horses. We did. Plus we caught a killer sunset. This shoot ended up being quite the experience for the Ohio native. We were glad we could oblige :)

This was Crissa's first time shooting nude in the Arizona desert. We were stoked when she told us that it was more than a typical shoot; it was an Experience!
How many of our Saguaro and Senita tier subscribers would like to see more of her? Let us know in the comments!

(January 2020: Set 1)
It had been a while since we could shoot for ourselves. Between our day jobs, our daughters' active schedules, and shooting other models, we kind of neglected what started our TND journey. But, once her schedule calmed down, we were able to spend several productive, creative, and restorative days shooting and reconnecting for the start of 2020. We captured some great Naked Desert images for sure. We are just getting into post--definitely lots more...

We were on the road New Year’s Day and are currently in Joshua Tree.
Thanks to all whose pledges cleared yesterday. If you already gave us your address, we dropped a Polaroid in the mail as a bonus. DM us a mailing address if you’d like the December pledge bonus still.
We do have a shoot planned today. Hopefully, it’s not too cold. Here’s a sneak peak of a Lightroom Mobile edit from our AirBnB last night.

Bear with us as we are still figuring out this platform, but we wanted to shout out our new Patrons. We know you're used to the style and quality of images we post on IG and Twitter, but we wanted to get your opinion on Polaroids: Post 'em or nah?
(We're planning on posting a mini set of double-model Polaroids in the the Saguaro tier shortly BTW. Just gotta dial in our scan settings.)
