We have the 3 basic poses and measurements, front, side view and back view.
Every time you draw a character use these measurements and you will have a proportionate character.
These measurements vary according to your style. They can be longer or shorter.
One head for waist width is the basic female measurement.
In the next tip we will see a variant of pose using the same measurements :3
Side-View For Comic
We add this to the basic measurements.
With this rule you will have the proportions in place. Draw your character inside it.
I once made the mistake of learning the proportions and then forgetting them. Then I had to go back to basics. It is important to dedicate time to the measurements so that you do not have to do it again.

The best reference will always be a photo of a person, not another drawing or anime.
The reason is the next: An anime character doesn't have real proportions, and to learn anatomy you need the basis. When you learn the real proportions, then you can distort the body to your liking, long legs and narrow waists. Or 10 heads tall.
