For context, Gumi recently got a Synth V voicebank, which objectively produces a clearer, higher quality sound. Instead of giving her a new design like they did with Kasane Teto, they simply colored her goggles and (chest gem?) blue ❤️➡️💙, and lowered her left arm in her box art pose.
People have memed on the complete lack of “new design” when it released. 😂

I went with a classic “old-school” bullying scenario.. with a twist. The twist being that the shy, meek KAITO in this Sekai is secretly into it.. 😉.
The colorful school uniform was fun to draw and finish. I left out the details around his waist from the official design (hanging belts), since I found they would interfere with the binds. 😊

The bow ties in his hair are a reference to a four-panel comic where Rin and MEIKO mess with him and give him a “makeover” ☺️. I believe it was also his introduction comic when he first appeared in the school Sekai (a digital world).
Disclaimer: he’s wearing a school uniform, but I still headcanon this version of him, Meiko and Luka as an adult since that’s the way they’re portrayed. I just don’t want people getting the wrong idea 😅..
