Nothing was easy about this shoot. I was accompanied by a camera crew that filmed how I work and they got robbed in the old town the night before. I didn't go out, so I was fine, but the whole atmosphere was very tense.

I was still shooting with my Canon 1ds MKIII at that time. This was short before I switched to Sony.

I was desperately seeking a model with red hair for this shoot. When I saw Jammy, I immediately knew she was it! Red hair in perfection. I love this, because it makes you think of a movie strip right away.

After a night out, Pauline came to my hotel early in the morning. She has such a wild spirit and was making fun of me, because I am always so serious when I am concentrated. She said "Simon, you have a stick up your ass, you are so stiff" and we both had to laugh.

Like Ice in the Sun

I was at the wrong terminal when trying to pick up Sloane at the airport. This confusion was awful as I only had a few hours until sunset. Luckily, I managed.

Two years later, this villa was completely renovated and I worked there again for Playboy.

Road Ranger

When wanting to shoot a road trip story with Mia, I had major problems finding an undisturbed location in Fuerteventura. I was not so experienced with working abroad in 2013 and at my first sport, there were other tourists, then there was too much traffic passing-by.

It took until 2 pm for me to make the first photo. I was getting nervous already, but Mia is one of the most perfect models I ever worked with. She just rocked!

It's all about body proportions. Those legs are never-ending. I think, I never met a model again with such crazily long legs.

Ban the Bra

It was my very first time in Ibiza and I booked a location scout to take me to scenic places for my shoot. This helped me a lot and I can only recommend to do such a thing when you pay a model and want to get the most out of your time.

Coming Home

I re-worked on these photos during pandemic, because this shoot really means something to me. Saya was coming home to my apartment for this shoot, actually. 

It's weird to see how it once looked. Meanwhile, the furniture has changed, but through these photos of Saya, I remember it nicely. 

La vie en rose

What a beautiful apartment! Architecture plays a big role in my photographs. It's about the female body, but there is always an interaction with the surroundings. Not only during the shoot and for the mood on set, but also when you view the photos. This place looks cozy and so you could imagine much easier to cuddle with Laurence. I said 'imagine', so please don't get me wrong.

For a long time, I wanted to photograph a woman on a copy machine. But it wasn't easy to find a model who was up for it. And to find a copy machine. First I thought of buying one, but damn, those things are expensive.

So, I asked the publishing house where my book was printed and they said yes. The rest can be seen in the pictures.

I have done so many shoots in hotel rooms, that you could imagine, it gets boring. But with Lina Linn, it was special. She brought so much life into the pictures.

Imagine, as we wanted to end, she told me, she can do splits, so I ended up with the photo with her legs spread from one side of the bed to the other.

She was such a cute blonde young woman that I had to ask Aubrey, if I could photograph her. Unfortunately she did not want to shoot nudes, but when we met there was still a certain aura she had.

Open Your Eyes

These are the photos I have chosen for the final series with Dominika. I tried to balance my flash with the outdoor light, so it looks like an available light only shot. I think, it worked out quite well except for that you can see my umbrella reflecting in one of the images.

Sundressed

Traveling to an island with a model is best when you know each other already. I am very thankful for having received a free upgrade with my rental car which is very unusual, I believe. I love about Ibiza that it is small and you can reach each place within one hour driving.

I fell in love with this apartment right away. It was super tiny, like all the apartments in Paris, but so cute. And this blonde woman fit in perfectly.

Outtakes Dominika

When working with a model like Dominika, it's hard to shoot a photo that doesn't look good. She is such a gorgeous model and therefore I worked with her four or five times already.

These are just some outtakes which were less good than my other photos. Still too good to just throw them away, I believe.

A friend of mine once said "I'm a rock'n roll refugee, I don't need a watch". This is how I came to the title of this series.

The Mustang is quite a power horse. And so big compared to German cars. It was one of Rubia's first nude shoots, actually.
