did the abs first, of course.
translating the Castlevania artstyle to my artstyle (or any artstyle) is a challenge, mostly because of the noses! if I kept the nose structure from the show then he'd look almost like a botched plastic job. but once you start changing things, the likeness gets less and less. always tough to know how far to take it.

I was this close || to doing an alucard/treffy/sypha piece (happy pride) but when i sat down to paint, alucard took all the spotlight for himself. i still might do the threesome piece at some point, we all know how lonely he gets without them.

my goal going into this was to create intimacy with the viewer. just us and geralt, at night, gettin cozy. and initially I had planned a single, rather passive lightsource shining at him from the front (to kinda create the illusion of no lightsource) as I really love the artworks that can pull that off! I always find that they create the ultimate intimate feeling.
but, as you can see, i couldn't help myself. I'm a sucker for a cut off external lightsource. had to be done.
