Dragon Ball Z: The Beast Within - CH3

[Escarot POV.]

True to his word, the next day, Paragus took me for training.

He didn’t offer much in the way of explanation, just barked for me to follow him after we’d finished eating. Saiyan food, by the way, was surprisingly bland for a race known for eating ten times their body weight for each meal. It was mostly meat, tough and charred. Functional. ...

[Escarot - POV.]

Light spilled into the pod as it cracked open, a thin mist rolling out into the air. For a brief second, I couldn’t breathe, I couldn’t even think straight, it almost felt as if every part of me had frozen up, not knowing what to do, until eventually I took a sharp painful gasp, blinking hard as my eyes adjusted to the brightness of the room. <...

Dragon Ball Z: The Beast Within - CH1

I loved hiking. It was liberating.

Up here, the air was just better, cool enough to keep the sweat on my brow from sticking, fresh enough to make me feel alive. My boots crunched over the rocky trail, dodging roots and loose stones. I always liked these hikes: nothing but the open sky, leaves rustling, and the steady rhythm of my dog’s paws beside me.

Naruto: Faint Smile - CH 107

[Takeshi POV.]

It had been a week since my encounter with Killer B, and seeing he hadn’t bothered ever since, I had decided to just let him be.

As far as my sensei, Jiraiya-sensei was off somewhere doing what he referred to as “important research,” which was code for “spying on women.” Meanwhile, I found myself seated at a small restaurant in the village, enjoying some local cuisine.

The food here was surprisingly good.

Naruto: Faint Smile - CH 106

[Takeshi POV.]

The days in Kumo began to blur together. Jiraiya-sensei had spent most of his time “working,” which in his case meant mysteriously disappearing and then returning either drenched in water, bruised, or occasionally wearing someone else’s shoes in his skull.

I stopped asking questions about it after the first day.

It wasn’t worth the headache.

To pass the time, I decided to explore the village.&...

Naruto: Faint Smile - CH 105

[Takeshi POV.]

After several weeks of wandering aimlessly—or rather, wandering to very specific locations where the female population was inexplicably high—Jiraiya-sensei finally announced a new destination.

“Alright, kid,” he said one morning, his hands on his hips and his grin annoyingly wide, “it’s time to pack up. We’re heading to Kumo.”

I blinked, tilting my head slightly. “Kumo? As in Kumogakure? Enemy territor...

Runeterra: Arcane - CH 5

The abandoned mines of Zaun smelled as terrible as they looked from the outside, damp earth, toxic fumes and rusted metal, the kind of combination that seemed baked into every corner of Zaun, but worse down at the mines. Shadows stretched long and jagged along the walls, cast by the faint light filtering through cracks in the ceiling. Vander led the way with an easy stride, his boots crunching over gravel and loose debris.

I trailed behind, taking in the cavernous space. The plac...

A little bell jingled overhead as I pushed open the door to the local Pawn Shop, the sound faintly drowned out by the hum of Zaun’s busy streets behind me.

“Benzo!” I called, stepping inside and letting the door close behind me.

The heavyset man looked up from behind the counter, his thick brows rising in recognition. “Hawk,” he said with a nod. “It’s been a while. Vander finally send you my way, huh?”

“A little bit over a month, and ...

The crates were heavier than they looked. I grunted, shifting my grip as Vander’s voice carried over from the bar’s back door.

“Easy now, Hawk. No rush. Just set it down by the wall.”

“Got it,” I muttered, though my arms were already burning. The wood was rough against my palms, splinters threatening to bite if I wasn’t careful. I staggered a little, caught my balance, and finally managed to heave the crate onto the stack by the far wall.

Runeterra: Arcane - CH 2

A month ago, I died.

You’d think I’d be more upset about that. And well, if you had asked me that about… three weeks ago or so, the answer would’ve been a resounding yes. But now? Not so much. I think by now I was at the stage of acceptance with a touch of depression, just a tinsy bit.

To be entirely honest, the details of it all are still quite blurry, like trying to remember a weird dream after waking up. But I know this much: I was in an elevator, ...

It always made noise, a squeal of tired metal crying for it well deserved retirement; but today, it was different. Louder. An...

UPDATE.

I know I've been missing. I had a terrible month, on and off sickness, and lack of will to write altogether.

I think with everything that had happened before, the hurricanes, my constant debuff of being sick, and other stuff, I was reaching the point of burnout. Not because I was writing too much, that has never been the problem... I like writing, but I was reaching the point of no return because outside factors were pressing down on me, more and more.

[Takeshi POV.]

My legs trembled slightly as I leapt out of the water, barely managing to stick the landing on the narrow canal that led away from the massive underground pond.

My feet slipped a little as I crouched, but I caught myself before I fell back into the water below. Slowly, I leaned against the cool, damp wall of the sewer, sliding down to sit.

The faint smell of waste and stagnant water lingered in the air, the kind of smell that clings to y...

My legs trembled as I dropped to one knee, as exhaustion hit me like a wave. My new technique had drained me more than I realized or even anticipated, each pulse of chakra leaving me with less and less to give, and now I was nearly empty.

The water beneath me rippled faintly, the water reflecting the dim light above. I could feel my feet sinking slowly, as the chakra that kept me above the surface began faltering.

[Takeshi POV]

The mist was alive.

Everywhere I turned, it shifted and swirled, carrying the faint echoes of Zabuza’s mocking laughter. My blood dripped to the water below me, leaving a trail wherever I moved. Cuts lined my arms, legs, face, and torso, all of them shallow but deliberate.

He wanted me to suffer.

The wounds weren’t deep enough to incapacitate, but they were starting to add u...

I barely had time to register my situation, before he moved.

One moment, he was standing across the pool, smirking like he had all the time in the world. The next, he was in front of me, his massive blade swinging down with the kind of force that would turn most shinobi into two very messy halves.

Fortunately, I wasn’t most Shinobi.

The smell hit me first.

Navigating the sewage system wasn’t anyone’s idea of a glamorous mission, but it had been tolerable up to this point. Damp walls, narrow walkways, and the occasional scurrying of something small and furry, all manageable. But the faint coppery scent that began wafting through the air as I neared the meeting point was… familiar.

Blood. Human blood.

The inn Jiraiya-sensei chose was everything I expected—a cheap, small, and faintly questionable place. The wooden sign above the door creaked ominously in the wind, and the paint on the walls was peeling like it had been losing a battle with the mist for years.

“This,” Jiraiya announced as we stepped inside, “is what we in the business call cozy.”

I glanced around the lobby....

[Takeshi POV]

The border of the Land of Water was exactly as I imagined it would be. The air grew colder as we walked, the mist clinging to everything like it was auditioning for a horror story. Jiraiya-sensei trudged ahead with his usual swagger, his steps crunching on the damp ground like he didn’t have a care in the world. Meanwhile, I followed in silence, Tsuki nestled in my bag, her faint purring the only sound apart from our footsteps.

It had been a little bit over a month since Jiraiya sensei taught me the Rasengan, and ever since, he has put me to train the technique, day and night

“Good job,” Jiraiya muttered without looking up from his book.

I rolled my eyes at him, as the sound of swirling chakra hummed faintly in the air, as the Rasengan formed effortlessly in my palm. The sphere spun with controlled precision, the chakra compressed tig...

It took my new summons around a month and a half to contact the Toad summoning clan to arrange a reverse summoning for Jiraiya to use, during that time, I trained with my summons, learning a lot about them and how they fought. Needless to say, once I returned, he made me vow I would never tell Lord Third about my little summoning escapade.

I offered her a faint smile, nodding as we walked back to the home of the clan leader.

The hours wore on, and I continued moving through the endless stretch of savanna, keeping just ahead of the hunters. Despite the occasional close call, they’d yet to actually catch me. I’d managed to dodge each one with a combination of careful pacing, quick reflexes, and an almost ridiculous amount of patience.

But there was a question that had been nagging me ever since Chanua left me here: ‘What was the real point ...

[Arata Takeshi - POV]

The trial the summoning clan wanted me to do was simple. Surviving the hunt for 24 hours.

From what I was able to understand, apparently, their reasoning is that if I surviving being a prey for more than 24 hours it means I’m a hunter… a rather flawed analogy if you ask me, but I was up for the challenge.

Once my trial was announced, Chanua took me to a large hunting area, where I was to be hunted. As s...
