Trouble reaching the end

Hi Patrons!

I had hoped to release a new version this weekend, but I still have half a dozen renders to do and several events to connect/script. I bit off slightly more than I could chew, setting up all the stuff surrounding Shakala. And to top it all off, I implemented a new lighting system in an ongoing effort to improve gameplay graphics. Which required some new game mechanics.

So, once again I ended up miscalculating the amount of work necessary to complete the update:-/.

Although I'm still working on this month's release, it's time to choose a character for next month. Shakala will also be joining us next month since I still need to progress her story a little further before giving her a break. But I'd like to do one other character.

So after several updates that centered around the Tower of Dread. Erevi is finally getting a break. The next two updates will feature our favorite goblin, Shakala. But what's this? Has she convinced our intrepid explorer to settle down? Have our peasant's quests come to an end?

Clothing and "exercise" contraptions

Hello,

I was wondering what you think about the items you can purchase at the tailor and carpenter shops. My plan was to eventually have 6-8 items to purchase in each shop, but I don't know how well you like these sort of items. If you don't like this sort of stuff, there is no point in me spending a lot of time on it.

Okay, maybe automating the fertility potions wasn't the best of ideas. I haven't managed to reproduce the failure to prompt, but enough people are reporting issues, so I'm probably doing something wrong.

Anyway, this version returns manual fertility and barrenness potion consumption, yay!:-)

It should also fix the rat-quest-bug.

Rat quest bug & fertility potions

I've been made aware of  another bug. This one concerns the rat quest in the tower:

If you kill a rat close to the hole, you may end up blocking the crate. Remedy: 1. don't kill rat near hole, or 2. leave kitchen after killing rat near hole and try moving the crate again.

I'll patch this in the next update.

Concerning fertility potions:

Previously you could manually consume fertility potions. Not anymore. Now they are handled in the same way a...

This is the same as v0.51, but with a fix for the boar-hunt-bug.

Copy your "save" folder from v0.51 to this version to continue playing. If you were affected by the boar-hunt-bug, go to the kitchen/entrance of Erevi's tower and then back up again. That should fix your problem.

Boar hunt quest bug

Hi everyone,

There is a bug in the boar hunt quest given to you by Erevi. When she asks you to hunt a certain amount of boars, make sure to return to the tower with that exact number! If you have too many, sell some at the general store.

I used the wrong symbol in the script; "= "instead of "> or =". I'll release a patched version shortly (takes some time to upload).

V0.51 "The Sorceress Part II" Released

She's finally here! The second part of The Sorceress update has been released!

It's been a lot of work, but I've learned a lot the last few weeks. It has resulted in improved visuals and effects for the new locations and I hope to update existing locations in later updates. This update has also set a new record in rendered images; a total of 101 new images are bundled with this update. The total number of images in the game have now surpassed the 500 mark!

A few bumps in the road

I guess you're wondering why the next update is taking so long? Well, I experienced a few delays. The software I use for renders (DAZ) is rather space consuming and finally ate up the remaining space on my OS drive, so I had to install a larger one, which lost me a few days. The second reason is my own failure to stick to the plan. What was planned to be a simple "fetch an item" quest, ended up becoming an elaborate scene with a new character. Which added at least one more week of...

The winner of secondary character poll

The polls have closed and a winner has emerged. For next month's Shakala update, there will be one additional scene with an existing character. It was a very close race between Frida and Lia, but Lia just pulled ahead in the end. Sort of fitting, since she was the most neglected character so far.

It's been a long journey...

It's been more than 8 months since I started developing this game. From the start I wanted pregnancies to be an important feature of the game, which would trigger certain story elements or endings. It's been a while since the last character poll. This is mainly due to the Dark Elf Sorceress part growing much larger than I originally anticipated. I didn't have time to do characters other than those I wanted for her part of the story, so far.

Version 0.42 released

Hello!

Version 0.42 is now available for download, for all patrons (see separate post for link). This is a minor update to v 0.41, containing the bits I cut in an effort to have it released before I went on vacation. It therefor doesn't have as much content as my usual updates, but it brings "The Sorceress Part I" to the level I first intended it to be.

A small update coming soon

I'll likely post another small update at the end of next week. Don't expect too much, it's mostly to bring v0.041 up to the level I wanted it to be. These will be the bits and pieces I left out in an effort to get v0.041 released before I went on vacation. So it will mainly be bugfixes and some polish, but also a few small scenes for the Bat Breeder. Egg production is finally under way!:-)

Poll results for small sidequests

A little while ago there was a poll about small side quests. The idea was to let you take control of a female NPC on a tiny quest leading to some naughty adventure with someone other than the main character.

The poll results came out slightly in favour of the idea 56% vs 44%. As a result of this I'll still go through with it, but I'll scale it down a bit. I'll try to just do it when it serves for character building or story progression.

V0.41 "The Sorceress Part I" Released

Hello again:-)

Almost a week behind schedule, but she has finally arrived. Our dark elf sorceress enters the stage and continues the underlying plot for the game. Wait a moment, this game has a plot?? Yes, apparently it has, but I don't expect it to win any Emmys or Pulitzers, any time soon:-).

As I may have mentioned before, I plan to release two consecutive updates (Part I and II) for the sorceress since I want to tie her storyline off properly before continuing Shakala's story. Actual...

Apologies for the delay

Once again I've been too optimistic setting a release date. I wanted to have an update done by tonight, but that just isn't going to happen. Although the draft is complete, I'm still busy testing and bug fixing. To make matters worse, a new plug-in I used to enable new types of puzzles is giving me a tremendous headache. I need to find a work around and make sure the game is stable before release.

Small quests with NPC's?

In a bid to provide some variation, I thought it might be fun to let you take control of some of the NPC's and follow them on short quests/adventures.

The idea is to let you take control of one of the females, on a very limited map section (having them move and interact as freely as the main character is just way too complex). Perform some sort of quest which eventually could lead to her getting cozy with some creature, other than the main character.

Status report

Hello again!

Thought it best to give you a small status report. I don't know how many of you have any experience publishing monthly updates for games, but for me it's a psychological rollercoaster ride. The month starts with a high from delivering your previous update, this is followed by a week or so consisting of a very enjoyable productive and creative period. Sex slaves poll

Since the dark elf sorceress has a decent dungeon, I thought it might be interesting to introduce a few sex slaves to the game. I brought this up as a poll for 5$ patrons and the votes were heavily in favour of this concept.

Now for those who may not like this, know that this will be completely optional. I plan to make it so you have different options of treatment, so you may treat them well if you want to, which might lead to different behaviour/bonuses. Also you'll be able to buy sex contrap...

Sex slaves?

The sorceress owns quite an extensive dungeon and doesn't hold the lives of others in high regards. Now if our hero doesn't get killed by her first, he might just be able to persuade her to let him borrow the place.

The idea is to let the player capture a few victims and decorate his dungeon with items of "torture"/sex machines. These machines/contraptions can be bought at a carpenters shop in the village.

Status update

Dear Patrons!

Just wanted to share some info on the upcoming releases. The next update (version 0.4x) will be known as "The Sorceress". Apart from adding more characters, quests and so on, this update will also allow you to learn a bit of spellcasting, and the first possible pregnancy! Oh, and hopefully one more thing, unless it gets thoroughly shot down in the upcoming poll.

Dark elf sorceress

Next month's update will feature the dark elf sorceress that won a poll a little while ago. At the time I made a few quick renders for what she might look like. That girl is shown to the left. However, I think she looks too much like a nice girl trying to look bad. So I gave her a makeover and I think the girl to the right looks much more like a genuinely bad sorceress. So I hope you won't be too disappointed by my deviation.
