Uncharted 4: Change, Fortune, and What You're Gonna Let Go - The Patreon Cut

It took longer than expected, but here it is.

Quick disclaimer, though: this is not actually the final *final* version of the video. This one did get copyright claimed for some of the music that's in it, and that does require me to make a couple of changes that will be noticeable. However, I feel like I've kept you all waiting long enough, so I'm deciding to just give it to you anyway, because it will be largely, if not almost entirely the same. And since this isn't the final *final* ve...

Commentary Track - Spider-Man PS4: Duality, Responsibility, and Doing the Right Thing

Better late than never, right?

I am super sorry about how late these commentary tracks have been. I've even had this one recorded since November, I just hadn't managed to get around to editing it all together until now. But it's here now and I hope to have the Kung Fu Panda one up pretty soon as well. And hopefully, the Uncharted 4 one will actually be out on time. But I hope you enjoy this one, anyway.

Thanks for pledging!

FIRST 11 MINUTES - Uncharted 4: Change, Fortune, and What You're Gonna Let Go

I wasn't expecting my video on Uncharted 4 to maybe end up being my longest video I've ever made, but here we are! I know it's been a while since the last video, but this one's been a monster, and other personal life stuff has been holding me back, too. Hopefully, we'll be back on track by February.

Anyway, these first 11 minutes cover the video's intro and a rant about storytelling in video games. I know there are at least a couple moments where text looks weird or pops up weird. It's ...

The Lessons I Learned From Kung Fu Panda

Had a lot of technical struggles getting this one uploaded, but I got it through!

I'm super glad to get to talk about this trilogy, and the ultimate message is one I'm really proud of and that sits near and dear to my heart. I sincerely hope it means as much to you as it does to me.

I still have one more video planned before the end of the year, though whether or not I get it out before the end of the year is currently up in the air. It's promising to be a little on the long side,...

FIRST 4 MINUTES - The Lessons I Learned From Kung Fu Panda

I didn't intend on making this video until next year, but then the video I did plan on making this year fell through, so it got moved up on the schedule. And I'm so glad it did, because it's been a lot of fun to work with these movies. I'm so excited for you all to see the rest, but for now, here are the first 3 minutes for your viewing pleasure.

Hope you all enjoy!

Spider-Man PS4: Duality, Responsibility, and Doing the Right Thing

Hard to believe, honestly, that it took me this long to talk about one of my absolute favorite fictional characters, but better late than never, I suppose.

I don't intend to do much more with the character, because that's just asking for trouble on the internet, but I think this will suffice. It ended up being a bit of a love letter to the character by the end, and I hope that comes through while watching. It also ended up being quite a bit longer than I had initially expected, but 20-3...

The Beauty of War - Commentary Track

Still a little late, I know, sorry about that. But it's here now! Probably the last thing I'll ever do with Planet of the Apes, so it's almost bittersweet, in a way. Hope you all enjoy!

FIRST FOUR MINUTES - Spider-Man PS4: Duality and Responsibility

Coming back sooner than you expected, eh? Well, get used to it cause this is the new StoryStreet who doesn't take 3 months minimum to make a new video!

We're starting off StoryStreet Season 3 by finally talking about one of my favorite characters: Spider-Man. And what better to talk about than possibly my favorite interpretation in recent years, the PS4 game?

These four minutes are just the tip of the iceberg. This video ended up really going a direction I wasn't expecting when I ...

Planet of the Apes: The Perfect Trilogy (Part 3) - The Beauty of War

Here we are. At the end.

When I originally planned out this series, it was supposed to take 3 months over the course of last summer. But circumstance has led it to be a series that has dominated my channel for over a year. But now, it's finished. I did all I could to wrap everything up and bring it to a satisfying conclusion. It wasn't easy, but I'm incredibly proud of the final product. This is probably my favorite video I've ever made.

And I want to take this time to thank you. ...

FIRST 5 MINUTES - The Beauty of War

We're closer to the end than you might think.

Hello, lovely patrons! Now that I actually have time to dedicate to working on videos, the process has gotten a lot smoother and we're still on track for a September release (early October if copyright gives me too much of a struggle). And as such, I already have a little bit to show you!

This covers the intro of the video, why I claim War to be a perfect film, and cuts short of the video's first chapter on the film's production. I'm s...

The Tragedy of Dawn - Commentary Track

Hey there!

I know I'm (quite) a bit late on this one. Sorry about that! But it's here now, and since I left my other job to focus on the channel, I'm hoping I'll be able to focus on this stuff a little bit more.

But in any case, here it is! Hope you all enjoy!

Planet of the Apes: The Perfect Trilogy (Part 2) - The Tragedy of Dawn

The time has come.

After 9 months, it's finally time for part 2 of Planet of the Apes: The Perfect Trilogy. This one has been a long time coming, and I truly believe it will be worth all the waiting. This video is easily my longest and most complex project I've ever created, and I am very proud of it.

I'm so excited to finally get to share this with you all. So, without further ado, here is The Tragedy of Dawn in full for your viewing pleasure. I sincerely hope you enjoy.

FIRST 26 MINUTES - The Tragedy of Dawn

I know this one is taking a lot of time, but I'm not going to bore you with the details as to why. Just enjoy this big chunk of the final video. These first 26 minutes include an overview of the film's production and the style of Matt Reeves as a director.

I can't promise the full thing will be done soon (there's still a lot left to work on), but I hope you all are as excited as I am for the finished product. I think these first 26 minutes are the best work I've done on the channel so f...

The Tragedy of Dawn Intro

Since I've made you guys wait so long for this one, here's the introduction to "The Tragedy of Dawn" on the house. Patrons will be getting a much larger chunk (around the first 15-20 minutes) all to themselves, but I want to give everyone a chance to get a small look at what's coming.

Arkham Origins: To Be Alone on Christmas

Here it is!

Despite some issues with copyright, the video is technically not blocked, so while I try to get it monetized, I’m going to go ahead and let you guys watch this version of the video. The monetized version will be largely the same, so this is basically just the early access you get with other videos.

I edited this one in a little over a week, and I’m really proud of it. I think this really cements my style as one of thematic analysis mixed with attempted emotional su...

FIRST FOUR MINUTES - Arkham Origins: To Be Alone on Christmas

As always, it's been a while.

I know my uploads haven't exactly been consistent this year, but I hope to end the year on a high note. I've wanted to tackle Arkham Origins since last Christmas, and the more the video took shape, the more proud I became of what it was becoming.

I think it's pretty unique. And I can't wait for you guys to see the whole thing. But in the meantime, I hope you enjoy this little preview. I want to get out the full thing on Christmas Eve for you guys and ...

The Triumph of Rise - Commentary Track

I wanted to start showing you guys the editing timelines themselves seeing as how I thought that would be more interesting, but my computer is very slow and difficult to work with, so that would've been miserable for us all.

As such, we're just gonna work with this format for the time being (until I can get a new computer, I guess). Hope you guys enjoy!

Planet of the Apes: The Perfect Trilogy (Part 1) - The Triumph of Rise

IT'S FINALLY HERE!

After a week in copyright hell, I now bring to you the first part in my Planet of the Apes series, "The Triumph of Rise," which attempts to dissect how "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" revitalized a decades old franchise and managed to be a great film on its own to boot.

I hope you guys enjoy this, because it's only the beginning. The Dawn and War videos are set to be even bigger, better, and denser than this one (the Dawn video may be upwards of an hour in leng...

Rambling Reviews - The Batman (Trailer)

"I am vengeance."

I have not been this hyped for a movie in a long time. I don't usually do this for trailers, but I had to put this excitement somewhere, so here it is, 16 minutes of my incoherent excitement over what I'm coming to believe will be the quintessential film version of Batman.

This is why I stan Matt Reeves.

What Makes The Last of Us Great - Commentary Track

I know I said that this would be me looking over the actual editing timeline, but that proved far more difficult to do than I thought. So, nearly two months after its release, here is a commentary track for "What Makes The Last of Us Great: What's Worth Surviving For." I plan to do the Timeline Tour for the Rise video, but this will have to suffice for this one.

I went ahead and synced up the audio myself and uploaded it as its own unlisted video. That should make it significantly easie...

This part of the video offers a brief history of the Planet of the Apes franchise and some thoughts on the film's simple but fantastic screenplay. Hope you guys enjoy!

Rambling Reviews - Alien

So I have to watch Alien 3 for the Rise video (I wont explain why here), but I haven't really watched any of the Alien movies except for the first one when I was a teenager. So... I guess I'm watching the Alien franchise!

I liked this a lot more than when I was a teenager. Not sure why I didn't then, but I love it now. It's an incredibly well made film with a lot of obvious skill put behind it.

Here are some more in depth thoughts. Hope you guys enjoy!

A Small Change and a Quick Question

Hello, my lovely patrons! I have a couple small updates for you.

So, I've been thinking and I think it's time to get rid of the reading names out loud at the end of the video thing. For a couple reasons. First, there's getting to be quite a few of you and I don't want these endscreens to go on for too long. Second, I feel like it can sometimes be a bit startling and even undermine the end of a video. This last video for example I would much rather have been able to keep quiet during the...

What Makes The Last of Us Great: What's Worth Surviving For

It's time.

I've spent the last several weeks working on this monster of a video almost nonstop. At over 50 minutes, it's easily the longest  video on the channel and will probably remain as such for a long time. I'm really proud of how this one turned out, and I couldn't ask for a better return to YouTube after such a long time. If I know my audience, it'll make some of you cry. Hell, it made me nearly tear up a few times. But I tend to take that as a positive.

Rambling Reviews - Cloverfield/Let Me In

Matt Reeves is one of my favorite directors working today. That was based solely on his two Apes films, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and War for the Planet of the Apes (two of my favorite movies of all time). And so, I decided to watch the other two films in his filmography I cared about (so no David Schwimmer comedy, unfortunately).
Cloverfield and Let Me In are both movies that try to capture emotions in a way that only Matt Reeves can. Cloverfield is all about the essence of ter...

FIRST SEVEN MINUTES - What Makes The Last of Us Great

It's been awhile, hasn't it? Too long, honestly.

It wasn't the plan to have 3 months pass without a video, but that's what happened. And I'm super sorry for that. My college workload just got too big to handle, and when I lost the hard drive with the Hot Fuzz video on it, I was just too busy to do anything about it without exploding.

But I've been hard at work on this new video, and it's a real doozy. Over 40 minutes of gushing about my second favorite game of all time. But ...
