EARLY AND AD-FREE: The The Ohio Penitentiary Disaster of 1930 | Episode 58

We’ve been a lot of places together. We’ve flown on rockets. We’ve sailed the ocean blue. We’ve even been to Kalamazoo –but the one place we’ve never been before? Prison!

On this episode: you’ll hear the details of the most unusually botched execution ever, you’ll learn what it must feel like to share an outfit with multiple people, and we’re going to teach you how not to get shanked. Is your other favourite podcast going to teach you that much?

If you believ...

The Great Where the Hell You Been Catch-Up of 2023 | Episode 57

Contrary to what you may have heard from the grapevine or assumed based on simple observation, I have not died. This quick catch-up will explain my momentary absence from the microphone - followed a few teasers about upcoming episodes, mentions of a few giveaways, and a special shout-out to you guys, without whom there would be no show. Thank you all for letting me bring it to you.

ALSO, our next epiodes see us returning to NYC by air and spending some time in the slammer. No Patreon ...

Meet the crew (p.s. I'm back)

The reports of my disappearance and demise have been gravely exaggerated, but I have been absent for mental and financial reasons. What's the difference you ask? Exactly.

A new episode is in the works, and I'll leave you with an insider tease - we've been all around the world on this show, but we haven't been to prison! Not only are you going to hear some fairly abominable details about life behind bars, I'm going to teach you how to survive the experience.

I also wanted to sha...

Thank you Larry!

When your computer is possessed by a demon too expensive to exercise, and your dog loses it on an amazon delivery guy for surprising me with a new keyboard, I'll need to buy a bigger shirt to contain my expanding heart.

Sincerely, Larry, you're amazing. All praise and thanks to Larry Webb!

Also, I handle all my mail with my teeth. The dogs taught me.

UPDATE July is almost done, and so is my ability to type

Hello loved ones. Quick update, nothing crazy. I may be moving my recording to a friend's studio. It's an hour and a half away, but it's lovely. Maybe one day I'll have one to call my own. I've also just sent out my first Australian fan mail. Actually, it was last week but the point remains. I have to imagine this is the furthest I've sent anything - which reminds me - I did speak with someone a few years ago that loved the show and was stationed in Antarctica! Update is pretty upbeat so far....

This was a rough one. Snakes, spiders, ants, centipedes, rats, cats, fire, lava, oh my. This is only the second episode, but it was the first to genuinely freak people out.

I've been promising this for a while, and happy to finally be able to share with you all. Some people genuinely love listening to podcasts on YouTube, and who am I to argue. Long story short, please enjoy our very first episode from way back in the day. There are more to come.

Who wants to die on the show!

Fellow Patreon supporter Nick Graham from Australia inspired an idea where I will immortalize you in an upcoming episode by killing you terribly. All you have to do is share a recording of your pained or terrified or panicked screams and I will make you a part of the first ever 4D fully interactive podcast episode entitled "The Tetraology of Terror"!

You're uncomfortable listening? I'm uncomfortable making it.

Before I sweat the details, I sweat through my clothes in the car trying to find a quiet spot to record. Took a quick pic recording the OceanGate episode to see how sweaty I looked. Imagine suffocating humidity that cooks your brain until you can't think make so good. Then it starts raining, ruining the recording for a while.

It's important you understand how much I care about you Patreon supporters.

The show currently gets about 20,000 downloads a month and I have 45 of you s...

Doomsday OceanGate Titan Disaster Explodasode of 2023

You've likely heard far too much about this disaster - but not quite like this. I bring to you my much appreciated patrons, a somewhat rushed minisode that once again turned out to be not so mini.

I did my best to cut through the social media clutter and applied my own math as best I could - but the fact about this disaster is it is unprescidented. We're talking about physics and hydrodynamics at levels we have zero experience with, and no real way to test, or reason to try. So many th...

OceanGate Patreon Explodasode – just for you

For you and you only, because you have all been so good to me (and you are currently helping pay for a new microphone). I'm hoping more will join our happy family here so I could insert "good" between new and microphone.

In this new episode, you will learn:

•  Just how fascinatingly irresponsible Stockton Rush was

•  Why making fun of dead billionaires is good for you

•  Exactly how unbelievably nightmarish the last trip of the Titan was

JULY UPDATE: I'm not dead!

Three new episodes this month!  I'm teasing a very patriotic July 4th episode, followed by a Doomsday specific recapping mailbag on what became of the people on board the OceanGate Titan submersible, followed by the promised killer campsite episode. Grab onto your pants! You're going to need to change them.

EARLY AND AD-FREE: The Melbourne Airmageddon of 1992 | Episode 53

Emerson once said “the Earth laughs in flowers”. Well in this episode, the ferocity of their attack will be compared by survivors and investigators to that of a terrorist incident.

On this episode: you’ll learn about the cuddly fur baby with the strongest bite in the world, we’ll hear about an actual Doomsday cult with more resources than Al Qaeda, and we’ll learn what to do if you found your throat tightening up like an anus.

In a country with so many lethal predators...

EARLY AND AD-FREE: The Battersea Funfair Disaster of 1972 | Episode 52

There’s an old saying; Life is like a roller coaster. It has its ups and downs…but it's your choice to either enjoy the ride or die screaming yourself senseless.

On today’s episode: we’ll settle a long-standing misconception about who parties harder: American teens vs British teens edition. We’ll see what happens when you put degenerates in charge of public safety, and we’ll see how a janky them park ride can lead to a janky spine.

It’s always amazing to me when w...

EARLY AND AD-FREE: The Guadalajara Street Disaster of 1992 | Episode 51

This episode stinks. And no spoiler here, but if it looks like a duck and smells like a duck and it’s highly flammable like a duck… Yes, it will seem obvious, but just wait and see.

On this episode: we’ll investigate some smells that rank up there with putrefying corpse, we’ll talk about some limbs that act more like meat-filled wind socks, and we’ll visit Mexico’s underworld and face something more dangerous than gators, morlocks or chuds…

In all of our tales, som...

BONUS Ye Olde Crime

I know most people are here for the show and the existing format, but occasionally I'll venture out to try and raise awareness and grab a few extra listeners wherever I can. In that spirit, I'm posting this "Can You Crack The Cramp Word" minisode from a while back just for fun. The common denominator between all my appearances seems to be butt water.

Rest in Power, King of Rats, Lil' Ratso

Jason Piper, this one's for you.

After a previous appearance on the 10ish Pod, I explained the story of my poor pet Ratso. Long story short, about 20 years ago I inherited a pet rat who was rescued from a film set where he was supposed to be eaten by a snake. I did not want a rat in my house, but domesticated rats are affectionate and intelligent as hell. Well, a rat's life is never a long one, and I found myself sitting up with him on my chest one Christmas Eve listening to him gently...
