“Let me wrap my head around this. If the holo-emitter carries your entire program, the storage capacity must be at least equal to a modern spec'ced Starfleet vessel”?
“Yes, and there’s room for more”, the Doctor answered with a hint of smugness. “There’s some more teraquad’s in me than the average looking hologram”.
“I bet”, came the reply from a man not facing him but his holo-emitted shoulder. The young engineer looking at the Doctor’s arm rested...

I'm currently writing episode 4. I'm a quarter of the way through, current scene involves the Doctor explaining his emitter to members of Project Pathfinder.
The vfx artist I may have or not have mentioned before sent me some samples of his renders. His plan is to map out the entirety of Voyager and he's hoping to create the backgrounds that are relevant to the first episode (so we have visuals to put on Youtube). Here are some renders he considers "basic". I think they are amazing and ...

These 4 episodes are being written in a way where I'm focusing mostly on 1 character, maybe with a small b story to take a break.
In the last snippet I shared, we had episode 4 with Harry Kim taking Icheb to Starfleet Academy, I was in the process of carrying on with Kim but have decided the 2000+ words I've written for him will be for episode 7. Instead, episode 4 will be about the Doctor and Barclay. Let's have some fun in episode 4.
My hope is by breaking up our heroes I can wr...

Thanks to your contributions I have gone with updating the podcast with a modernized rendering of our crew.
I'll share the original version that I saw that inspired this image here - https://www.deviantart.com/nightwing1975/art/main-crew-voyager-489532136
I'm posting it (hopefully on mobile it allows a full res upload) here for you. Otherwise it's a lower quality elsew...

Lt Harry Kim, stared with intent through the front panel of the Danube class Runabout, as it made its descent onto the Academy’s flight deck. As the shore line of the Presidio, campus buildings and cityscape of San Fransisco drew closer, the unchanged scenery, proved to him the peninsula existed in a stasis field.
The runabout settled with the grace of a resting Inyo Mule Deer. The craft’s side door yawned, allowing in the clime of the Californian morning and forcing out the artific...

After the turn of the 21st century, after the Eugenic wars, after Khan Noonian Sing departed from Earth on the S.S. Botany Bay. Eurasia found history repeating itself with another Khan devastating the continent. Multiple countries required massive investments towards reconstruction.
The augment tyrants made sure to wreck as much havoc and misery as they were forced out of their fiefdoms and consigned to the history books.
Khan oddly, considered “the best of tyrants”, bec...

There is only going to be a series 8, but it doesn't mean there will only be 25/26 episodes (like the show). If 8000 words an episodes translates as 45 episodes or 50, then that's the series.
Calling this 'Season 8' is enough to let people know there is more.
Once I end the stories I envision, I'm not planning to do a Season 9. Famous last words of course.

In this side story someone from Deep Space Nine gets a special message.
(This is also an excuse to download some DS9 sound files. You know, for later).

I'm starting with B'Elanna because she is one of the characters I want to do something unique with and potentially genre breaking for Star Trek. She is also someone I didn't know what to do with.
First as much as I dislike the Christie Golden books about Voyager's return, B'Elanna was the only character to get a solid solo story and I enjoyed it to a point.
Having sat on her for nearly a year, I want her to go on a similar journey, if you haven't read the books then I haven't spoi...

There were two Beatles references in episode 3. Anybody catch them?
As an aside, I'm simultaneously writing the opening to episode 4, (there will be a small time jump, episode 2 and 3 were almost in real time) and I'm redoing all the scenes in episode 3 with regard to voice work.
I noticed I'm a bit flat with the expression of characters and out of practice since episode 2. so everyday I'll redo a scene (upload the update - nobody downloading will notice) and then I'll go back to ...

Gerron Ral's final log for Starfleet and he has some things to say. Ral made this log just before he left for the transporter room.
NOTE: This might become a mini series for patreons. This first episode is for everyone who visits. I like the side perspective of having a character explain himself. Some of what is said here is partially duplicated in the third scene of episode 3 and some other stuff isn't and will be referenced later.

This scene depicts Lt. Commander Tuvok leaving the USS Voyager on the USS Challenger to travel to Vulcan to cure his degenerative brain condition.
In orbit is the USS Voyager waiting for the crew to leave Voyager to begin their shore leave (a day after arriving back from the Delta Quadrant). Some of the crew beam to the starbase, others beam down to the planet. The USS Sovereign is waiting to escort the modified ship to Utopia Planetia for her refit.
(For Patreons it's yours to d...

To keep this short, I've updated both episodes that begin season 8 of Star Trek Voyager season 8. They've been remastered simply because I'm a better writer and I bought better sound recording equipment. I also can't stand the thought of future episodes being of better quality and the first one's aren't. From my point of view the first episodes are the most important in order to get people to listen, they won't if they sound bad.
Both episodes can be downloaded from my podpage here -

SHOW NOTES:
I’m sharing some 3 listener mails and discussing story and Star Trek with you.
Questions:
- Is the first episode too long? Aren’t 45 minute long episodes better?
- Can you get friends to do voice work?
- Are you leaning towards a more DS9 or TNG approach with the story (Overarching series arc vs serialisation)?
- Could we possibly have a bit more between Janeway and Chakotay?

This scene is from the latter end of the first episode where the USS Sovereign arrives into Earth orbit carrying Admiral Patterson. San Francisco can be seen beneath both ships.
Each eBook is expected to have 3 images each at the moment. This depends on the price I can get for the renders by the artists on Deviant art.

Thanks to those who donated, one third of the visuals for the eBook are nearing completion. This isn't an opening image, I chose this one because I liked the idea of seeing these two ships together in frame above Earth.
The first copy of the eBook will be made available to existing patrons regardless of donation level.

I wrote this scene before I finalised the story for episode one. Rather than delete the entire written scene, you can read how Tuvok's other leaving of Voyager would have gone.
As Wayne Campbell would say, "Let's do the mega happy ending".
The door hissed open. Commander Tuvok stepped onto the bridge and made his way to Janeway’s Ready Room. Surrounding him, the bridge was alive with StarFleet engineers taking pieces o...
