I knew Lyn would be just expression changes so I drew her once and copy/pasted and redid her eyes/nose/mouth for the subsequent panels. Pulling the characters out of the panels and having no backgrounds helps make Lyn feel isolated and especially so in panels one and two, where there's no physical connection to her an the other characters.

We find out who Captain Crazy really is in today's Zombie Roomie.

I wanted to move in a little closer on the characters than we were on Monday since I like seeing my art larger than smaller... I know I'm vain. It also helps show the difference in the character's heights... Lyn is just so teeny it's adorable.

Smut #3 still coming

My weekend got thrown off with doing another Gutters page and having a blue screen crash where I had to redo a bunch of said Gutters page. I'm working on the smut for this week, it takes place at the strip club.... so it'll be up before the end of the day. Thanks for understanding.

Zoey in panel 2 was mostly a redraw, so I only sketched her changed expression. Same with panel 3, but I moved the earlier sketch over and it's still there in this. Originally John was going to be closer to George and Zoey in panel one, but I moved him over after sketching him, so he has part of Zoey's sleeve overlapping his elbow. I really dig George's head/face in panel one... I'm probably going to base a lot of him going forward on that.

This strip feels like the first time I'm comfortable with this new jerk character. Somewhere in between sketching and inking him in panel one I got a feel for how to draw his face better than the two times prior. There was a whole bunch of overlapping to be done in this strip so it was a matter of placing the characters into the panels and making it make sense... I also knew that panel three would be the star of this strip so the first two panels would be fine with basically being talking head p...

There was tons of trouble in setting this up. First it was going to be a normal sized strip and the fiance was going to be across the page from George and he was done smaller.... then I changed up the composition and enlarged him and placed him over where George would be for overlap. Getting George being choked in mid air was harder than I'd like to admit.

Today's Zombie Roomie has no idea what it has gotten itself into.

There was lots of size changes when I finally decided on a composition. The fiance was hard to get his look down "right" since I hadn't drawn him before I did the strip... I really shouldn't design characters on the fly, but I do it all the time and it's a bad habit but I don't know if I'll break it anytime soon.

I knew I didn't want to show doggy Lyn actually squatting, so I was going to cut things off before we'd see that... Luckily the background I already had for the Talbot home was just what we see here with the railing/etc. So I was able to place John on the outside, at ground level, with George and Zoey behind the railing.... I originally was thinking Zoey would be in her WAH shirt, but I ended up drawing the bottom at normal t-shirt length and since I was lazy, I just drew in the skull and ringer...

I knew I wanted to have this strip go back to the strip where Jack drives John to the Pink Taco strip club, so I framed it like that with the Volkswagen bus in the two panels and had Lyn's head out the window for three. Jack has been a difficult character to get "right" with his design and I've flip flopped on a lot with him... and I'm going to for a while until I feel like I can live with it. My current plan, in my brain, is to take Lyn's design and try to make it more masculine instead of work...

John in panel three was originally going to be in there with George again, so he was drawn smaller. I increased his size when I decided to have him be popped out since George wasn't adding anything to panel 3. Lyn wolf on Zoey in panel 2 works better in the sketch, since adding red on a red shirt kinda got things lost... But I wasn't redrawing that after I added color... Live and learn.
