In "Superman: The Animated Series," Dan Turpin was visually based on comics legend Jack Kirby, who had recently passed. So it was only fitting for the fictional "Kirby" to have his funeral attended by...a bunch of his creations and influences. And guess what? The new HD release of this episode TOTALLY restored these cameos!

The rumor mill is running wild lately with hints that we may be getting a revival/reboot of "Batman: The Animated Series." But is it such a good idea, or should it be left alone?

A little late to the party, but hey, I have a newborn in the house and I'm gonna use that as an excuse for the next 18+ years.

Casting Call - Tara Strong
Phew, this is gonna be a big one. Tara Strong is, like, every cartoon voice ever. Well, maybe 1/3 of them. Either way, prepare yourself as Ted goes through her entire animated catalog, and how she went from "that girl from National Lampoon's Senior Trip" to nearly 600 credits on IMDb.
Wonder Woman: The Adventures Continue
What might a "Wonder Woman" animated series set in the DCAU have looked like? Could it work nowadays? What villains would we see Diana fight, and should they stick to stories and characters from pre-2006 or bring in some New 52 goodness?
Timm vs Shumacher
Joel Schumacher's world through the lenses of "Batman Forever" and "Batman & Robin" changed the way we look at the Dark Knight. But how did it influence the animated universe, and vice versa?

Hello, everybody! I need your help with something.
Back around the first quarter of 2020, we created a "Send us to Comic-Con!" $6 tier here on the Patreon, where one of the rewards was me (James) drawing you a Batman head sketch and mailing it out to you. Soon after this tier addition, many people signed up, but then all Hell broke loose, and of course all the cons we had press passes to were cancelled. Since then, you and I have discussed and decided as a group that, rather than mail out a bunch of paper-drawn headshots, I would draw them digitally and email them. But I'd like to make it a little more interesting.
In order to get my butt in gear about these, and keep myself accountable, I would love to stream myself on our Twitch (and probably YouTube) drawing the Batman sketches LIVE, for anyone and everyone to watch. Just hanging out with me as a draw nearly 40 Batman heads. HOWEVER...
I need to figure out exactly which Batman heads to draw. I could draw BTAS Batman over and over again. I could draw BTAS, TNBA, JL, and BB Batman heads on repeat. Or, I could spice it up a bit and have each and every head be a different version of Batman, cartoon or otherwise.
Below is the full list of patron names that "earned" a Batman head over the course of the few months I had that perk going. I would LOVE it if, if your name is on this list, you could comment on this post and suggest a version of Batman you would like your head sketch to represent. First come, first serve, no copybats! You want George Clooney? Claim him before someone else does.
And if you believe I have left your name off the list in error, please let me know and I will double-check our records. Also, some names are of folks who have since left our Patreon family (RIP) and will just be notified when their sketch is done (we can decide as a team on the livestream).
I'll be sure to post something on here, and everywhere else, when I know what day and time I'll be doing the drawing stream. Happy commenting, and thank you all so much again! Maybe this year we can ACTUALLY go to cons...

Fascism in the DCAU

Policing the Animated Universe
In a similarly timely deep dive, join us as we go through how the Gotham City, Metropolis, and other DC police departments reflect and defer from our own real-world police force norms. Are all DCAU cops bastards? Certainly not Jim Gordon...right?
