these sounds are all pretty messed up but thats kind of what gives the album its personality i think - a lot of the sounds were made by me (rook) by processing and layering various other things, since at that time i was really into using only drum samples i had made myself (this line of thinking is a creative dead end lol dont do it).

WORLDS (WASTEISOLATION b-side)

Rook:

v weird song... i remember working on this a lot but i think it just ended up too different from the rest of the album, maybe partly because it's at 140bpm which i think we talked about being some kind of cursed bpm. most of the album was <120 so this was more videogamey and hard to write to. i think there's a slowed down version of part of this somewhere too that we talked about using later on but i dont think that ended up as anything either... maybe there is still time ?????...

Rook:

We wrote this song during a period when we were writing a bunch of really wimpy synth tracks. Doomspiral also started out as a 5-minute synthpop song from those sessions before being reworked for the album (we might post that one next). Anyway, please enjoy this wimpy and beautiful song. I really love the vocal layering at the end, I'd love to do more of that kind of thing in the future. It's fun to sing a weird little song together <3

This song sorta got cut from the album while we were recording Forever In Your Heart. Couldn't find a good place for it but I still think it's kind of cool and special in its own way. Lyrics abt breaking machinery because that is what really does it for me in the realm of art. This is sort of our take on bitrcrushed heterosexual preset loop industrial or something. Devi's part at the end still brings a weird little tear to my eye

i really like the crazy momentum of this song despite the fact theres a bunch of parts with no drums at all. devi heard my part and told me to get rid of everything except the screaming and the rave generator 2 plugin, which like, the fact that i did it i think says a lot about the trust of our working relationship, or mb just the stupidity of us both. im also proud of the part at the end where the mids are clipping super hard. blown-out bass destroying a mix is played out, im slw...
