So with this month being a bit of an odd one out and i only really can show oil paintings, i figured this might be a decent little addition for you in the 10+ tier.
After all, it's called Full behind-the-scenes pack and this is behind the scenes!
Had a package arrive with art stuff and we're going through it.
I recorded a little tour of the oil painting setup as well and will upload that later this month.

We had a mammal, a bird, and now ticking off the reptile category with a komodo dragon.
Not super happy with this one tbh. Saved it beyond what i thought it would be but still not really hitting the mark. Had to scrub the whole painting once at some point after WIP2 and start new. Good to figure out how that works though and what to expect when you have to scrub all of it.
All in all this one feels overworked in some places, underworked in others and it just feels a bit wishy w...

New year, new month, new vote. This sketch i'll try to do in oils at some point during the month and it honestly might be a total travesty.
i figured being indulgent and offering only suggestions with Nomax would be fun, but now that i'm actually thinking about full character pictures it might be quite troublesome. WE shall see i guess, maybe it'll be a trashfire.
But yeah, it's january or more like...Naughtyanuary? So it's all porn-ish. Again, indulgent...
And Painting #3 is done and dusted.
I also sat down and fiddled around a bit to figure out a way to get rid of the worst of the glare. Included the before picture as well as a comparison. Should mean i can hopefully actually take pictures from normal angles from now on, rather than always trying to figure out which weird angle produces the least amount of glare...
It does end up blurring the painting a touch, but it's a worthwhile tradeoff to getting you some halfway decent pictures of ...
And we also got some feedback video here. From last year but didn't get to it until now. Mostly focussed on some more high-level composition stuff, how to think about light, value and all that. So a bit less paintery.
Hopefully you'll enjoy it.
Second try and most certainly already a step forward simply by knowing a bit more clearly what to expect when brush touches canvas.
I think photographing them when they're wet is just a lost cause. Tried standing in front of the light to provide some shadow from the stronger spotlight, but the soft fill light still messes with it... But hey, you all come here to see the messy behind the scenes stuff, so you get messy behind the scenes photos!

Man it's tricky to photograph these things. I assume it does get a bit better when they're not wet anymore but hoh boy. Especially because i only have a phone to take pictures with and phones just slap all sorts of post processing on it, so the picture is much more saturated than it actually is. And it being dark now with the lights i have set up being a bit warm it probably messes with the sensor as well.

Whelp, let's see how that experiment will turn out. Figured it's best if i pre-buy stuff before the new year if i actually want to get things started immediately, so here we go. Over 400 bucks worth of stuff to get the oil painting idea rolling.
i tried to figure out the basics needed but i'm sure i'll quickly discover that i didn't think of SOMETHING. But hopefully i've been thorough enough in my research that it'll just be quality-of-life things at this point.

A follow up picture for the armored panther lady from a few weeks ago for Airlea.

We got one from an upcoming commission, and then the others are from the next collab project. It's progressing very slowly because of just how busy Caraid is, but we at least managed the first round of rough sketches, so i might as well chuck em in here.

Planned to do another little thing for gumroad and i felt that the way i do my thumbnails is probably the part that makes the most sense to dive into as it just is a bit unconventional.
As it's a video thing you of course get it over here and i hope you'll enjoy it. You are a bit my test hamsters or something before i get it out to gumroad officially, so do please let me know if there is anything that is unclear or weird to you. Always hard to judge from my perspectiv...
