Hey everyone! I had a question that maybe you lot can help me with by letting me know how you feel about it. And that is if you prefer the progress in updates to be spread out, or more concentrated on one path.
So far I've always kept the development pretty spread out to make sure that every path is more or less at the same point in the game. If, for example there are two paths (A and B) with 5 scenes, I'd have update one be A1 and B1, the next update would be A2 and B2, the thir...

One of the things I didn't manage to get into Update 10 was the sunshine layer for Bandile, so in the fife-lesson scene he just had his diffuse light base even though the scene took place outside in the sun. But, that is gonna be sorted in Update 12 and our bun is gonna look the part of enjoying a nice sunny evening on the ship!
Also added some earrings since I forgot and he has so much jewelry that it felt weird to have his ears be so plain.
But, yeah. Small thing in the grand sche...

And we got a february feedback video that took a little while with all the NFC and release day stress. But we got there in there end and here you are.
Not really covering a specific theme, but more just exploring a painting and seeing what might be done differently and potentially just learning by seeing/hearing another artist's thoughts for those ideas.

Got another Maritime Menagerie Character done. This time we've got Mullein belonging to Rayden.
One of the ones that had to go through a bit of an adjustment as he originally was one of those crosses between hare and deer... though the name of the creature escapes me right now. But it wasn't too much of a change, basically just getting rid of the antlers to have him comply with the "no mythical animals" rule for the world.

There are only two of them left by now. A fight to... well, not the death, but a fight for whoever will be left with their old sprite the longest.

Added something new for Update 11. Now you can name your saves and hopefully figure out what you did on this or that save. Of course, you also get the option to turn it off if you prefer the simple click & save without any of this writing stuff involved.

Edit: I actually ended up going over it again because I felt that, even if it was just a quick Sunday scribble, it did deserve a little bit more love.
I have the whole sleeping situation be rather more comfortable in the game than it would be, with everyone having assigned hammocks.
More likely, during that time, the regular sailors would just sleep wherever. Out in the open during good weather, somewhere inside the ship lodged between crates, stored lines...

I realized I never really talked about the new panoramic backgrounds, and since Update 11 will have two new ones, I guess now is as good a time as any to just talk through the process I used to make them. I'm chipping away at the Samuel redesign, and it's turning out quite a bit different. I mean... it's VERY MUCH is a redesign.
I didn't anticipate it honestly, because Sam is one of the characters I felt worked pretty decently right off the bat, and people enjoy the design as well.
But the original pose just felt a tad clumsy. I wanted it to have a bit of swagger because of who Sam is, but it just felt a little off like a little low energy, hunched over, which is fair enoug...

I didn't manage to put him in for update 10, unfortunately, but here we have him! The armadillo who can smell someone with sewing skills from a mile away!
Quite happy with him! Unsurprisingly I'm not exactly well versed drawing armadillos, so painting these niche species is always a bit of a roll of the dice, but I think I didn't do too badly here. He's got the sunlight baked into him because his sprite is so specific with the pile of clothes that I'm not sure if I'll ever find another...

Hey everyone, I've got another quick little poll for you all.
It's a bit of a linear section, so right now, there aren't too many potential options. However, the first scene that'll be worked on has different main companions for the duration of it, depending on your relationships so far in the game.
