Conway - Update 11: Clouds on the horizon

Hey everyone, and welcome to Spring(-ish)!


We're continuing to advance further into the double-digits with our newest update, called Clouds on the horizon.

Those of you who gave the W.I.P. Update a whirl will know why, and I guess everyone else will figure it out now. :)

If all you want are the files then here they are. Below is the usual rundown of what's new in the update. And as always do let me know if anything breaks!

Scenes:
This update is our first post-timeskip section and includes the first scene of it. It's mostly just that one scene with plenty variations in there for different past choices and so is the "broadest" scene in that sense yet.  Hopefully we'll be able to do more stuff like this and just make sure to keep implementing sections that are influenced by choices in the past rather than just offering the choices in the moment.

It is actually a bit of a held-back update. I mentioned it before somewhere that I messed up a little bit and just didn't quite plan as prudently as I should have. So, just like Update 10 it was mostly a solo-affair for myself again. Come Update 12 that should hopefully be fixed though and I hope that means we'll get some wider breadth of additions to the game again. Not just me having to do the writing and then barely having time for anything else.

Also, if you are one of the people who are stuck after the lashing scene since like summer last year. Fret not! Your path is continuing as well! Just a small bit for this update, but it should wind itself into the rest again properly soon. (Also, gosh, what patience you have :D )


Art:
It's rather light on art unfortunately. Again, was mostly busy with writing, and February being February and me being away for Nordicfuzzcon meant it's a bit of a smaller Update. But we still got the Alden Artwork for the Maritime Menagerie Character that I didn't manage to finish in time for Update 10. Then we also have the v2 Update for Samuel in here!
Ah I can't say how happy I am with Sam's new look. I thought the original sprite would be fine-ish with some touch ups, but seeing the before and after? Gosh does new Samuel look good!

Smaller neat things have been added as well. We got more panorama background for new scenes, We got some really cool lighting in the morning I think. And we also have some of our first animated effects.
None of these are crazy additions, but I think together they make for some fun visuals for the new scene. :)



Other Additions and fixes:
- You can now name your save files. And if you prefer the old Click & Save you can always turn off save names in the preferences.
- Plenty of typo & grammar fixes and all that good stuff, thanks  to those of you who point me towards them either in Discord or  elsewhere.
