Gave it a fresh pair of eyes and ran it through several people and I landed on something different I actually really like. I want to know what you think though!

Mik Tentacle Folio

The only reason why it took so long was because I didn't know how I wanted to handle this. Accepting payments and dealing with file distribution myself (which I did in limited quantity and it was still a headache)... doing it print only... using an online storefront of some sort... selling the images to/ posting them on one of the furry paysites... I couldn't decide. I told myself I will figure it out later.

Then a lot of time passed. Damn.

Mik Bodypillow Front Base

Took 17 hours total to get to this point on the front drawing! That is not counting the 12+ I spent on the sketch of the back. Again the execution might be simple but the fine tuning/ planning is what took up all of my time. If I were better I could produce these results faster but yeah the inking/ colors took 1/3 the time of the sketch.

10+ hours later... (body pillow sketch cont.)

The fine tuning in this one was the face. Lots of subtly drawing over the same lines and tweaking until I got it just right. The final execution is simple enough but it betrays the painstaking process of deciding on the finer points.

Probably going to have some help with the ankles feet before I ink it.

Ideally I would give all sketches this amount of care and time because good sketches produce better finished products. Unfortunately I cannot afford to do studies like this for everything...

Unfortunately I do not have recordings for every drawing because well... some if them I didn't intend on posting so I didn't think to! That or other recordings were rendering as I was also drawing at the same time and I can't render and record simultaneously as my PC isn't up to it.

There is a lot more quicker/ looser work than usual but hopefully there is something to be gained from it.

7 hours of butt struggle time lapse

I was looking at my last Mik body pillow and I don't like it.

I know I mentioned other character ideas but Mik has priority right now! I will still get the others done. I intend to make this a semi regular thing.

I am now working on a Mik daki I want to like. Gotta get that ass lookin right though. The rest will follow.

This is just a wip. The sketch isn't final!

I'd like to do a body pillow next. Thoughts?

What character would you want to see first? I'm going to do a Lana one on my own time (my husky corgi with blue bits) but I would like to field you all for another idea.

I thought about doing a licensed character like Gadget or my latest design of Arcanine but I think I would like some input from you all first.

I like these characters but eh... when doing them my way it's basically a cartoon head on a painted human body - hah! Don't get me wrong, it's what I do and what I like... but it isn't without a lack of self awareness. One of the reasons why I don't do art of characters like these often is because although I may like their designs I never found the blobby...

Gadget Sketch

I've been asked to draw lots of characters. Among them has been Gadget and Mrs Brisby. Well... here's a Gadget. Mrs Brisby coming up hopefully soon!

I'm going to be drilling myself in sketches and in some of them, like in this case, I will clean em up a bit and throw some colors on! My hope is that over time I'll get so good at it I will be able to incorporate this workflow into comics and other project art so that they don't take several days to finish!

Sexyfur Sketch - Reindeer getting some sun

Part of a short series I'm working on for Sexyfur. Sister of the other Deer I drew in December. Basically a palette swap - hah. Whether or not I show the color work I do indeed color most sketches because I am shit at visualizing in lines so I do some quick colors at some point to keep things moving.

There is some bg fuckery that I need to fix up before moving forward. Specifically the arms of the lawn furniture and getting the right plane on the edge of the table in the back there. Easy fixes...

Mikswim color study

I try not to draw her more than once every few weeks. What can I say though - love drawin her. Wouldn't if I didn't. For a cute otterfish thing I rarely draw her under water though. Working on fixin that.

This sketch is actually a few years old (not sure if I posted it before) but the color study was from today. I like the simple/ effective look so I thought I'd share it.

11 out of the last 14 hours were spent working on this. Although not a complicated drawing I did spend a lot of time balancing the colors out making sure it came out exactly the way I wanted it to. I kept thinking I was almost done and I only had a few more touch ups to go and suddenly hours go by and was still amost done with just a little more to go. Welp.

Anyway.

Several people have suggested me to draw her throughout the months and indeed since originally drawing her for Sexyfur I've had quite a bit of people wanting me to revisit her. Well - here she is!

I'm running behind on art due to being out of town and then sick af but hopefully the quality of the art isn't suffering as I attempt to rush through it all!

It's not the first attempt at drawing her this month. It is, however, the better of the bunch.

For whatever reason the font was broken on the computer I drew this on this is the best I could do for now, not that it matters much!

I was out of town for about two weeks and have been sick as a dog since last sunday... so a week. I'm a bit better now, still sore as fuck from all of the coughing and my ears/ nose still feel plugged up but eh... s'all good. I'll live. Expect...

I wonder why that is?

I think I finalized their designs! Hairstyle/ triangular muzzle shape/ etc. Nothing outlandish... but it's something I struggled with for a surprisingly long time.

The yellows/ blues are not their natural colors. It's a dye job! It's something Mik actually designed for them and the first story will actually revolve around this fact (cute/ lewd"body paint" story).
