Kiyomizudera (Kyoto) from the Shinkansen

You can just see it on the left side from Shinkansen going back to Tokyo. It’s hard if you’re arriving into Kyoto to catch it. Have to turn back pretty far. That means you can see the Shinkansen from Kiyomizudera too … in theory. Might need to be as high as the pagoda …hmm

Buddhist Temple Cuisine live stream tonight

Just a note: I’ll be doing a live stream from the shukudo temple stay of their Shojin ryori (Buddhist vegetarian) and my experience yesterday of an amazingly unusual FRENCH SHOJIN CUISINE experience, quite interesting. This area is famous for the 88 temple pilgrimage around Shikoku, 5 of them in Zentsuji city. Usually takes like 3 months to hike around the island. Anyhow, stream is late for the US but the playback should be interesting. -John
