I think I need to make a longer post about the state of things, but for now I'll say: here ends book 11, and I am probably going to take a few weeks off before starting book 12 but I'm not sure. I could do an intermission and sort of regroup while doing that, but I think I'd rather keep the mainline comic going. An intermission usually means a few months, at least, of no NTO proper. I'll keep you posted.

Why was that color so weird: Diamonds' dichromat memory

You may have noticed the last few panels on that last page were strangely colored but not really figured out why!

In trying to represent a blurring of Diamonds' memory with the moment I tried to replicate horses' dichromatic vision, which probably looks a lot like protanopic/red-green color blind vision in humans. I imagine Diamonds, once a flesh-and-blood horse and a dichromat, remembers and dreams in two colors.

Why are the final two panels colored so weird? They're supposed to appear  protanopic, as they're from Diamonds' perspective, and Diamonds is a horse.

Apologies this is going up so late! Summer, with the kid home, is auto-tricky, but it was also Father's Day (happy Father's Day, dads, belatedly) and I had a bunch of appointments again. No real progress on the neck situation but I am now on Cymbalta, BTW; we'll see how that goes.
