Mindstealer cyphers embody the uncertainty and danger of tampering with the numenera remnants of the Great Ones who stalked the many lands of Earth before the coming of the Eighth World.
At first glance, a mindstealer appears to have the function of some other cypher. Its danger, however, lies in its hidden function (which can only be detected if the check to identify the cypher succeeds at a level 6 difficulty): The mindstealer copies the owner’s brain patterns into itself and re...

The future is chromed, but the relentless grinding of the wheel is constantly finding fresh ways to dull the bright edges. Smart materials promised to revolutionize the physical world the same way that augmented reality had transformed the digital, but their price was high and the cost of overhauling existing infrastructure is always higher than the cost of just letting the existing stuff rot away.
As a result, nanopaint – relatively cheap and easy to slop up onto existing structu...

It felt a little weird to post the Campaign Overview last. But part of posting this material to the web was doing a final check of the material, which included updating the Overview so that it was an accurate reference document for the rest of the remix. I didn't want to post it first and then continually have to revise it; so, instead, it waited until the end.
(Although future readers clicking through the navigation links will hit it first.)

I've also finally managed to actually work AHEAD on the Eternal Lies material for the Alexandrian, which also means that I can actually offer Early Access.

Over the multitude of millennia, masters of the arcane have found a seemingly limitless variety of methods for recording the secrets of their art. Perhaps the most interesting of these were the liquid spellbooks perfected by the katai – the Imperial sorcerers of the Karlasian Dynasty.
Using complex alchemical arts, the katai found a way to suspend the complex energy patterns of a spell in specially prepared liquids using self-restoring crystalline matrices. Instead of poring over ...

Like the Severn Valley, this is an original scenario. Unlike the Severn Valley, it can't be trivially broken out of the campaign and run independently. (As designed, it really lacks any sort of conclusion: The PCs come to Axum, poke around, learn some stuff (that's mostly meaningful in terms of the larger events of the campaign).
If you wanted to run it as an independent scenario, you'd probably want to have a stronger conclusion focused on the Obelisk itself in some way. Did Frumen...

Well, not really early access.
Sorry this didn't reach y'all before the actual post. I finished prepping this essay late last night, scheduled it for this morning on the website, created the PDF, wrote an Early Access post, hit the "Post Now" button, and went to bed.
Except apparently the whole "hit the button" phase of that didn't actually process.
Speaking of not-so-early-access, though: The Eternal Lies material I've been posting this month has, similarly, been getting...

Now we come to one of the two completely new locales that I introduced to the campaign. The Severn Valley is 60 pages, 40+ props, and 20,000 words. It’s also robust enough that you could easily run it as an independent scenario (and I’ve included notes for doing so).

Even if you're not otherwise interested in the work I'm doing on Eternal Lies, you might find this update worth checking out: First, it describes a somewhat unique (albeit labor intensive) method of handling immersive library research at the gaming table. Second, the research notes themselves form a sort of epistolary novella that you might find entertaining in a Lovecraftian sort of way.
