I remember in testing with these, that I "discovered" an approach to softer, hazy looks in studio (both in lighting and in post work). I remember being super stoked for these results!
But, it was also when I was almost entirely focused on the tech and production aspect, and not so much mood and emotion. Not that Joanna did badly, but, these still fell a little flat, mood wise.

Some sets you barely remember, except for one detail. In this case, my friend who owned the house I was shooting in that day casually threatened, "I am gonna put out the red satin sheets for your shoot" knowing full well I had no interest in that. As a joke, I said ok do it anyway!
And this was the result. I don't love it, but it was an exploration.

I was really exploring a lot of back-lighting at the time and also enhancing it in post production. But I think I overdid it and it was too heavy handed. On top of that this is the era where all my black-and-white images had a little bit of color toning to them (in this case, blue). Not sure why I like doing that back then, but I got away from doing that after a while. It ended up bugging me, and I only stuck to true black and white since.

One last video from the project with Briana. This one I wrote an industrial metal type of backing track for and experimented with lighting in ways I'd never tried. We wanted this one to be daring, different and drastic – I think the result ended up kind of amazing.

So quick question, do you guys feel like I should start organizing my posts into Collections? Patreon offers that function, and at first with only a few dozen posts it wasn't a big deal, but I am now fully moved into Patreon, as it were, and I know I'm going to have hundreds if not over a thousand posts here in the next few months.

These shots of CJ from 13 years ago were some of my earliest attempts at working in the art nude genre, and clearly I didn't entirely know what my vision was. I definitely approached everything like commercial glamour of the day, and to some extent there were some decent ideas here, I felt.
However, the execution was a little bit lacking, and I hadn't quite found my voice, if you will, back then. But still, wanted to share!

I try to just share what I do on my Patreon, whether it's a throwback or a throwback set or a new shot or a set of new shots. That said, I also just do whatever it is I do, that is, I finish the projects as I see fit, and call it a day.
