There are countless songs that share this title but Joni Mitchell's takes the cake in my opinion. I wanted to share this cover with you before I embark on my final pre-baby tour TO CALIFORNIA!
If you're in California by chance, here's where you can find me:
6.16.22 @ Mill Valley, CA
6.18.22 @ Somerset, CA
6.19.22 @ Grass Valley, CA
... then it's on to OR and WA! If you have any friends in the area, send them my way!

When touring wraps up this summer, I'll be spending most of my time collaborating with other songwriters in Nashville.. and nesting (let's be honest!).
As I was thinking of who I've loved writing with in the past, I thought of Jeff Cohen. You've probably heard his songs in movies, shows, and on the radio over the years! He wrote one of my favorites pop songs of my youth... Evan and Jaron's "Crazy For This Girl". So c...

The first night I toured with Will Hoge, I was stunned side stage hearing him dedicate this song to me, Patryk and our little girl.
I listened to this song in college and never in a million years imagined I’d ever hear it sung for MY baby girl. Though we didn’t know each other when this song came out, Patryk had it in frequent rotation when his niece was born. There are so many sweet emotions tied to this song… I had to cover it!

After a much needed few days of rest at home with my parents, I am revving up the mini van to slowly make my way out to Ohio! Over the next 7 days, I play 6 shows from OH, to MI, IL, WI and MN! Send your midwest friends my way!
The morning after the last May show, I fly to Reno for my first ever TedX talk. It'll be an experience far outside of my comfort zone, but I am rehearsing...

Years ago, I sat down with Jeff LeBlanc in hopes of writing a song. He's a dear friend and I always enjoy our writing process. We usually talk for awhile and then take a string of our conversation and turn it into a song. On this particular day, I remember Jeff had a number of things he was worrying about. As a fellow worry wart, I could relate. With the times we live in now, it's impossible not to have concerns about the state of the world. That said, some things are not worth...

Some ten years ago, the manager I was working with requested a cover of Phil Collins' In The Air Tonight. I wish I could recall why... but I have no clue! It never was used for anything in the end, but Gus Berry did a stellar job producing this from home. Since then, it's just been living on my computer. That's one of the reasons I love Patreon... now I can share it with you!

Stella's performance in this video is hard for me to top. :) I can't get over it.
This song is a heavy hitter in the Longley household. My dad used to come home from work and make us sit around the stereo system to listen to his latest Somewhere Over The Rainbow cover discovery. The two versions that made the biggest imprint on me were by Jane Monheit and Eva Cassidy. The search was over after we heard Eva Cassidy's version. Nobody could make us cry more!
I start...

As mentioned in the voicemail:
1. You can download Will Hoge's song "Baby Girl" song here
(side note - should this be one of the Patreon Cover songs I do this year? I'm thinking so!!)...

It’s not every day you get to write with one of your songwriting heroes. I’d been a fan of Lori McKenna’s since I saw her on the Oprah show in 2005. If you’ve heard her album Lorraine, you can’t help but feel like you know her through the personal stories in her songs. I highly recommend diving into that one, not to mention all the hits she’s written from

A little Selena Gomez never hurt nobody. I've always thought this song was so catchy, and well-written. I hope you enjoy it! We tried out a different corner of the house for this video, and put a mannequin on a microphone stand to add to the edge of these lyrics. HA!
You can download the song here.

When I posted the Patreon poll asking if you’d like to hear “unreleased songs” which have technically been released by the artists I wrote them with, your reaction was so incredibly supportive. Thank you for being interested in hearing my versions of these songs! It really meant a lot to me.
Here’s the first of the sort…
I wrote this song in 2014 with my dear friend Mary Bragg. It’s about not settling for a relationship that doesn’t make you feel alive. After we wrot...

Some of you may have this song in your collection, but in case you don't, I wanted to share it here and tell you a bit about it!
When I moved to Nashville, I had my heart set on making an album on music row with the best musicians possible. After my first successful Kickstarter, I worked with producer Gus Berry to create my self titled record. It was an incredible experience!! Two days in the GORGEOUS Ocean Way studios, with legendary musicians, recording songs that were road test...

At this month's Valentine's Day online show, this song was a winner. The lyrics, the chords... I can't get over this song!!!
Somehow I'd missed out on this Ben Fold's CLASSIC until now. Luckily (see what I did there?), the beloved lizard John Bommarito requested it for the online show. One morning I listened to it in bed and my eyes welled up. I loved playing it for you and am so glad you all felt so strongly about this being the February cover song.
I truly feel like the luckiest...

While I never met Melanie, somehow this song found its way to her dad shortly after her passing last year.
According to her father Fred, every time he got into his car, Send You My Love would play. He'd never heard it before, or heard of me, and couldn't figure out why it kept showing up. When he listened closely to the lyrics, he felt it was his daughter's way of s...

I love sharing unreleased songs with you every month... but I have a question for you.
I would also love to record a few of my own versions of songs I co-wrote that have been released by another artist.
If I shared a few of those, does that qualify as an unreleased song?
Vote below. Thanks, lizards!

It was 2016. I was in the final writing stages of my record 'Weightless'. My manager at the time also managed Colbie Caillat. (I never did meet her but we exchanged messages on MySpace back in the day. Not to brag! Hahahaha) He set me up to write with Colbie's frequent collaborator, Jason Reeves. You've surely heard the hit songs they've written together: 'Bubbly' and 'Realize'. Not only that, but Jason is an incredible, boundary-pushing artist in his own right.
I distinctly re...

I've been working on the project of a lifetime! :) Patryk and I are expecting a Little Larney on August 18th, 2022!
We are over-the moon-excited, and nervous, and mostly grateful that the baby is healthy! On our first ultrasound, the little nugget was a ball of energy. Splish-splashing around. We're gonna have our hands full! Sometimes I like to imagine he/she is doing splits in there like Patryk did on our wedding day.
Now that I've ...

Hello, hello!
To be honest, this is not the song I had planned on sharing with you for January 2022!
Yesterday, Patryk turned our living room into a moody music video set so we could film/record “Dare You to Move” by Switchfoot. It’s an epic rock ballad that I was sure would be the best way to kick off year 2 of cover songs… but upon hearing the audio today, I dared to DELETE it. Lol, but seriously. I do love that song, but I need to find a different key to sing it in. ...

Happy Sunday! I hope this finds you warm, with your hands wrapped around a cup of coffee! I’m finishing up my tour in FL tonight. It’s far exceeded my expectations… ticket sales were low heading into it and I didn’t know if anyone would show. But it’s turned out to be an incredible run of shows. (More on that when I leave you a voicemail on Monday!)
This morning I’m stopping by 88.5 WFCF Radio in St. Augustine, FL to do a little radio interview. I’m tuning in currently and...

Happy New Year, dear Patreon family!
Thank you for stepping into 2022 with me, here on Patreon. This community has changed my creative life and allowed me freedom to create music on my own terms. You have done that for me. I can't thank you enough.

Hey friends!
Stella turned 10 years old this month! I thought I'd share a song I wrote for her back in 2018.
I had WAY too much fun singing this one all those years ago... it's a bit over the top but what can I say? My love for Stella just spilled out. If I ever release this song, I think a music video full of clips of YOU and YOUR DOGS is a must.
To my cat loving patrons, I'm sorry to say that I have not written a cat song. In college, I had a beautiful Hi...
