The Name

While I have been writing my personal setting on the codename AUREX, I don't really have a true name for it.  I have looked into possible names, mostly because I will likely need to trademark it at some point, but I am still unsure.  Here are some of the options and I figured I would let you guys help me decide.

Also, yes, none of them are like "BattleArt" or something similar, because I don't need any more troubled gazes. *nervous laughter*

Remember, pick the ones you like and leave out the ones you don't.  I will consider the poll in the future when I make my final choice on it.

I am also open to write in suggestions.

This was a test in designing longer video formats using my angles with a few extras.  Don't expect anything huge, it's a mini-parody, but it's something I may do more going forward.

Gauging Interest

With all the different things I have been trying recently I decided it's time to gauge actual interest.  Out of recent animations and other media, what are the ones you have enjoyed the most?  You can pick multiple, so vote for whatever you like and leave off those you don't really care about.

This will help me figure out more of the future.

Also, as you know, for the last few months I have been slowly bleeding patrons, but this month was the first that things have stayed very level and steady, so I know you all are my closest supporters.  I have something else I hope to give in the coming months but I have to be careful with how I roll it out.  Keep things tuned, and thank you!

Lost Power Teaser

Decided to give this render a little extra length (400 frames per angle) and a little better quality on render settings.  As such, every angle is going to be around 5 hours of render time, so I didn't finish it today.

As you may notice with the last two releases, I have been dabbling in sound and post work again.  This one is no exception, though I am trying to make it longer and maybe a tiny bit more varied (still not to the point I can get that elusive decent looking cumshot), so the finished version won't be out for a bit.

However, for those that want a peek, I threw in some placeholder renders and did some editing tonight.  You can watch the draft here to get a better idea of how it looks in motion, though most of the other frames won't have her pulling away in the loop.

Poppy Pop

The image I was working on was killed by Blender (Yup! Been trying it again! Still gives me a headache!).  Rather then get depressed and throw up my hands for the week, I stitched this together in C4D from nothing to render in less then two hours.

I tried to play with it in Resolve to give it a bit more oomph.  Really nice program.  Just in case though I am attaching the original render too.

Might try to add more angles next week but I really only mapped it out for this one.  Hopefully can get Tifa working without error next week.

Added a few bonus renders and stuff for fun, the effect on the floor was also just for fun, people can make up their own head canon for what it's supposed to represent. =P

The Looming Threshold

Want to start off by saying I don't blame all the people that have left.  This isn't a rant or a pity party post, but it is something I have to talk about, because it's something I have to worry about for the future.  

I have been slowly bleeding patrons since losing my WoW content.  

One of the reasons I took on the Subverse side job was because the bleed was so consistent each week and already dropped by a good 30%.  While that side job will keep me solvent till a bit into 2020 when my term expires, after that I have to make sure I have enough funds for my family, so I have a threshold I have to stay above by then for me to be safe.  I am now looming very close to that threshold.

I know part of this is likely rewards are not super strong right now.  I am weary of adding "patron exclusive" angles and remixes again for reasons that I hope are obvious (at least till I get something that no one can claim over me).  I just don't know what else people would really want though. Game Streams? Unboxing Videos? MY DIRTY BATH WATER!? Hmmm maybe not that last one.

So help me out here.  What are some things you guys would like to see that I can give you, and maybe bring some people back into the fray here?  Any suggestion no matter how small or weird is appreciated.

Also, seriously guys, but thank you.  Thank you for sticking around after all the troubles and still supporting me months after the loss.  Many other creators would have seen a rapid loss and pretty much gone under within a week, but over 50% of you have stuck with me and kept me going.  I work hard to improve more and hope to bring more to the table, either with more posts or stories or whatever, but I need to curate what you guys hope to gain.  

Maybe then, I can get back to the comfortable place I used to be.

Grok : Origins

As I write the backstory to my own setting I based it on a dream setting I had for a long ass time.  Part of that dream setting was a version of Grok that starts out a human, but is transformed into an orc by his enemies, but is saved from total corruption by this versions Lakuu.  He becomes indebted to her.

I kept that in this setting, but I find most have had a lukewarm reception to the idea.  I am reconsidering it but I wanted to know opinions before I jump on anything.  In the end I will choose what I feel is best.

Though the vast majority liked the names I created, a few of you brought up great points about why they wouldn't work.  I decided to give you guys even more sway and have a vote for the names using a few others I had on my back burner.  Tell me what you think fits best.

The Prime Races

Because I am sure people are going to ask, and I want to give more information in general and be more active here, this is a breakdown of the four prime races and their inspirations plus corrupted offshoots.

Human

Humans are classic and resilient.  They were known to build the largest cities and spread the most around the lands of Baskan.  They are inspired by humans from most other fantasy settings.  When corrupted, Humans become "Orcs", a highly strong and even more resilient creature with a lust for blood and power and exceptional cunning.

Elves

Elves are wild and unpredictable.  They came from the deep jungles and lived among tribes, though an entire subset has now grown up among more civilized cities and townships.  They have odd powers unseen by most other races due to their natural affinity to plant life.  They are inspired heavily by my OC Anu'aka with a few subsets closer to Night Elves, High Elves, and Drow.  When corrupted, Elves become "Delven", a mix of Draenei, Tieflings, and Succubi, who gain increased persuasion and charm.

Thikin

The Thikin are a short race of industrialists that rely on magic and steam to build wild machines, mostly for destruction.  They live in a harsh landscape with little farm land, in a volcano within the Fringe, and thus rely on other kingdoms to support them through heavy trade.  They are a mixture of Gnomes and Dwarves in design, thin and cute, but taller and slightly more robust, with fancy hair and mustaches.  When corrupted, Thikin become "Direkin", a small creature covered in stone like plates and lizard like features, tough to hurt yet incredibly agile, with heavy inspirations from Imp Midna and Goblins.

Skale

The Skale are a very large and brutal race of lizardmen that mostly live in the frozen northlands.  They mostly live in hunting villages, only converging at the old ruin of Springscale for meets and mingling, or to gather supplies to try and warm their cold blood.  Inspired by many other lizardmen throughout fantasy, with a bit of a viking bent.  When corrupted, they become Drakundr, a dragon like creature that generates heat and is nearly impossible to control, living only to pillage or slay.

That is it for the primes.  Would love opinions.

Lesser Races

Jumping off from the stuff yesterday, I have worked on developing four "Prime" races for my setting that I hope to get models for first.  These prime races also have "corrupted" variants.  Will go more over them later.

However, much like any fantasy there has to be more to really fill out the world.  I have come up with a few possible  NPC / Mob races, and I wanted you guys to vote on which one should be developed first once I get the primes done.

Vermina - A small humanoid rabbit like race that infests the hills of Haven and can reach as far as the Fringe.  They are considered a nuisance by most but are known to be made into indentured servants by some Thikin aristocracy. (Think Wildstar)

Tygas - An elongated cat like race that can be found in the southern jungles and the northern tundra.  They are known to be primitive and barbaric and don't trust many other races. though a few have shown kinship with the elves. (Think Saberon)

Bauros - A bull like race from beyond the Fringe, they are rare in the west.  They have a very antagonistic history with the Thikin. (Think Tauren)

Magic and Mystery

In my new setting, I am developing a magic system around two opposing forces.  

The universe itself it made up of one specific natural magic that binds all things together, while another magic, new to the universe, brings with it a corrupting influence that supplants the natural magic and warps it.  While there are many different schools of magic, all the magic, both natural and arcane, come directly from the influence of the natural magic and it's connection to the very soul of creation.

I have right now code named these magics Mysteria (Natural) and Ataxia (Chaos), but I wanted to let you guys give some insight into what they should be called.  What do you guys think? If marking no, leave a suggestion below on a cool name, and maybe it will click with me more.
