7 Year Blogaversary for ARAR!

It's pretty wild that I've been working on this Ranma ask blog for seven years! Just stumbled upon these sketches of an alternate idea I had for the check-in on Akane. This is all I got drawn of this initial idea before I went for Akane busting up the dojo instead. I still really like this idea, I just went with what I wound up with because this would have been too long of a scene. I kinda just wanted to show, yep, Akane is pissed, and then jump back to the boys.

There will be more check-ins with Akane down the road, where we’ll get to see her talking more about...

And yes, the big blank spot is intentional. It's meant to be the "passage of time" but I'm sure it will mostly just confuse people and make them think shit is broken.

The manga leaves it somewhat ambiguous what Ranma’s hair colour is in girl form, but most people imagine it stays black, and the anime just went with red to better differentiate the characters.

I personally wished they’d just left his hair black, it would have made the curse feel more focused on the changes it makes to his body, instead of it feeling like the girl Ranma is a completely separate char...

I've had this brainworm since 2017, and recently it crept it's way back into my hyperfixations.

Ask Ranma And Ryoga reached 2k followers on Tumblr, so to celebrate I let folks submit suggestions for what I should draw to celebrate…and a genius of an anon who requested “Akane, Ranma, and Ryoga doing the Anne Hathaway from Twelfth Night kiss meme pose” was the clear winner.

It worked out well enough to double-whammy as a Valentine’s Day pic, as well. Two birds with one stone.
