Night Cravings Comic Flat Colors

Greetings, loves.

So, as you can see, the colors brought with them some background details and even a couple of lights. It was something I wanted to try specially for the eyes.

Something maybe more appealing for a flat color version even without the fully shaded layer.

Small sparkles that give a bit of depth, but nothing too complicated either.

And I also noticed that the comic format needed to change from black due to being way too powerful of a color to frame...

I tried to stay as close as possible to the original idea while figuring out how to make it all look and work together.

I have to say, some portions of text had to be left out, but I think that is part of a comic progression. Like, when is it too much text? Or not enough information? Where is the balance? I like learning this kind of things while pr...

I have to say, it has been very challenging. Honestly, I don-t know what I am doing. xD
Regarding, text bubbles, panels, fonts and many other details. But I do embrace the challenge and I as I always say, practice makes it perfect.

Once again, I am glad that the colors didn't outshine each other. I think they are similar, but no so much that they blend in nor contrast each other too much.

Also, I have forgot to mention that one of the main reasons I wanted to draw this, was because this little things are actually enemies in the game...and you have to attack them... :'(

I don't know if I told you this, but I had the opportunity to play the new Kirby game. And I simply fell in love with this little critters! TwT

So I just wanted to draw something related to them!
And here is the little sketch I came up with. ^^

Here we finally are!

It was certainly and interesting experiment. Not as easy as I though, but it wasn't as complicated either. :p

You see, since I was told about the idea, the size difference, the pose and the scenery felt like a real challenge all together. In fact there were a couple of things that had to be adapted. ^^"

But it was an interesting experiment overall.
I hope I was able to bring justice to the idea.

The colors are done!
One of my main concerns with them was that they might be a bit too contrasting with each other. I might have had to use certain shades of the original ones. ^^"

But now that that is fixed, I can finally start with the background.
I think I didn't mentioned it earlier either, but just as the tittle implies, the scene takes place in the woods.
We'll see how it goes. ^^"

Also, I forgot to mention that I want to try and work on the background once I have all the colors down. It is an experiment.

I already have some idea as to how the background might look, but I didn't want it to constraint me or make me change details as I progress.

I think it has an interesting effect. But it might only work with food. xD

Now that the colors are in, I do have something to say. I believe that I might have let personal experiences to influence the mood of the piece or maybe it was just a coincidence that the idea was that close to reality. xD

Whichever the case is, I just wanted to say that much like when I play with my sister, we usually laugh about mistakes or accidents like this one. So I think this is sweet in more than one way. :'3

The line art is done!
I don't know if I have told you this before, but the truth that ever since I made that little change in the eyes of my little pandas, every step of the piece looks like a complete different version of it. ^^"

Since you can now see the pupils, but without color you cannot see the real form of the eyes, but with flat colors you cannot see the eyes at all. xD

Remember when I said I wasn't going to make as many versions as Rose had?
Well, I might have stayed true to that, but I still ended up making a lot more than I thought I would. xD

So as you can see, many of them are just color variations and I also played with the texture of the tights in some cases. I felt like it worked a little bit better than how it did with BB last time.

And also, mixing the colors a little bit as one particular reference I found did.

In the end, I was very pleased with how she turned out!

And as you can see I wanted to give them all some sort of cohesive theme so even though the colors are different I used the same background I used for Rose. ^^
Each one will have their own color but it is the same symbol.

I think I forgot to mention last time that while I was looking of a spicy outfit for her, I stumble upon the popular bunny suit, but immediately after, something called "Reverse Bunny Suit" which is very odd to be honest. ^^"

But conceptually and as part of a design mindset, I adventured myself and gave it a try. But maybe it still needs color to understand what is really going on with it. xD

They ended up being a lot more than I expected. :p

I wanted to experiment with the texture of the leggings in some cases. I think that when they are replaced with tights, with BB's fur being so dark, it doesn't work as good... ^^"

I decided to try replicating an 80's vibe background to capture the whole atmosphere of the moment and also have the phrase in a similar style. :3

And also, have just a small alternate version of the outfit without the shirt.
