Random update!

Hi everyone!

I’m currently in country that wouldn’t let me access my patreon page due to the ’adult’ flag I’m guessing but I ended up getting a vpn just to login and create this post. 

Im working on the script and code first this time as I mentioned in the last post. It feels weird in a way because I usually do renders first. The good thing is I wont waste too much time once I go back and can jump on renders immediately. 

I'm really enjoying writing scenes in the capital and I can’t wait to share it with you guys. New characters, new locations , new relationships. Hope you guys find it as exciting as I do. I’ve written 6 scenes so far and coded them in. some dialogue will change depending on the renders but the core dialogue for these scenes are ready.

Just a quick reminder that I will pause payments for a month if I feel like I didn’t work much on the game while on this mini break.

Weekly Update!

Hey everyone! 

I just wanted to update all of you on what's going on right now just to keep you in the loop. As I've said in previous posts, my sister just got married so I've been super busy with that. Weddings here are a big affair and usually have more than one event. This one has about 4. There's just one more to go which is on the 29th and I'll be getting on a train tonight for a 9 hour journey so I thought I'd make this post before that happens. In terms of work, I've been working on the script for the next update since I haven't been getting the time to focus on renders because of all the wedding prep. 

I'll be back from the event on the 30th and I'll be flying to meet my fiancé the next day. I'll have my laptop with me so I'll be working on the code first this time around to save some time. We don't get to meet much since she's in another country right now so we try to take advantage of any chance we get. Once I'm back from the trip, I'll work on renders. 

If at any point, I feel like I haven't been able to put in much time for whatever reason, you guys know by now that I'll just pause payments for a month because your support matters more than the $$. I don't plan on not working because I've been waiting for the group to reach the capital and it finally happened.

There won't be any 'on the way' scenes next episode. I wanted to end the last episode at the capital gates but I ran out of time and didn't want to delay the release again.

Episode 4.0 complete

Hey everyone, 

Episode 4 is now complete and live. There are around 800 new renders bringing our total render count to 1200+, our biggest yet and 15-16 animations  I hope you like the update. If you find any bugs, please share them on my discord server under the bug report section. I did a lot of bug testing with almost no sleep so I won't be surprised if I missed a few things. So please be my heroes or heroines and help me detect the bugs. 

Thank you all for waiting as usual. You've all been supportive as usual.

I should be awake for a little while but I may pass out because I'm running on fumes. So if you find something that needs to be fixed and I'm not here, I apologize. I'll work on any issues first thing in the morning.

Final release date (Phew)

Hi everyone,

If you read my last post, you know that I decided to add more renders and animations to the episode. Render count is currently at ~800 (was 500) with 8 additional animations instead of 3. I found a neat little trick that I could use to work with animations that cuts down my time by a lot. I still want to add more but I'll leave that for the next episode since this update is already overdue. The links will be up on Monday.

Happy new year! (and sorry about the delay)

Hey everyone,

I hope all of you have a great year ahead. Congratulations to all of us for making it through 2022. For those who had a rough year, let's hope 2023 is kinder.

I decided to add 2 more scenes to the update, bringing the render count to 750 from my original 500 with 3 more animations. I'm sorry about the delay but on the bright side, it'll have more scenes. This attached render is from one of the new scenes from our mini free-roam event.

Merry Christmas! (plus release date)

Hey everyone! 

For those of you who celebrate, I hope you're all having a good Christmas. For those who don't, I hope you're having a good day regardless. 

I just got back from a family lunch and I've been up for 23 hours now. My software is crashing a lot so I can't leave batch renders overnight and have to monitor the renders to make sure they go through. It's a minor issue because I can just restart the software and it works fine. The only downside is I lose some sleep for a while but I'm waiting to post this update because it was really fun to work on.

I'm almost done with all the scenes I wanted for this release. There's just one scene left which I don't want to skip because I want it to be part of this release. It just feels like it should be here. So I'm sorry but it's probably going to take 2-3 more days. I've proofread the scenes so far so it's just this one that I have to code and go through again. It'll be a mini free-roam event so I'll have to go through pathing too to make sure there are no major bugs. 

Overall, I'm pretty happy with the progress although I'll be 2-3 days late compared to what I had in mind. I'm gonna take a 3 hour nap now and continue rendering as soon as I'm up. Happy holidays! 🎄

Weekly Update

Hey everyone!

Development has been pretty good so far and we're currently at 300 renders. I want at least another 300 to bring the total to around 600 or more if there's enough time. If we hit 600 and I feel like a particular new scene HAS TO BE part of this update, I'll consider releasing maybe a day or two later IF that happens. But it shouldn't because I already know what needs to happen in this update.

I won't be super busy around Christmas because although we do celebrate Christmas here, I'm not too social and I avoid going out so I won't be too occupied which means I'll be around for any bug fixes that might be needed after the release.

I had this very ambitious idea of also releasing a very small non-canon Christmas themed story. For those who don't know, non-canon basically means it's a storyline that's not part of the main story. So for example, it could be characters from the game in a different world / storyline unrelated to the Swordbearer. I wanted to do this if I had time after finishing with the update. I probably won't have time though so I'll try going for it post Christmas but before the year ends. It's a very small storyline so it shouldn't take too long and I already know what I want for it.

Anyway, I think we're still on a good path progress wise and I can't wait to share this update with you. I'm starting to plan my work better which is giving me stress-free development so that's something I need to work on some more.

Weekly Update!

Hey everyone!

Work has been on schedule so far and I'm happy to tell you that this has been a stress free update so far. We're currently at 140 renders. I was hoping for a count closer to 200 but it's no problem, I'll catch up. 

The tentative release date is still looking good. If all goes well the way it's going right now, we'll have a pre Christmas release. If I have extra time, I'm hoping I can add in some Steam achievements and also more bonus renders than I initially had planned. Some renders will be unlocked based on the points you have with a character. A walkthrough for the points could be helpful so that's something I'll work on if I get an extra day. It shouldn't take too long. 

I see some new names in the list of supporters. Welcome! and thank you for joining. A huge thank you to all of you who have stuck around too. It's 4am and I'm not too sleepy as I've been sleeping at 5 am lately so I'll get back to work.

Weekly Update!

Hey everyone,

I started with renders early this time and we're at 70 complete renders as of right now. Out of the five scenes that were outlined in the last weekly update, one scene is complete (first 60 renders). I'm currently working on the renders for the second scene. Once I'm done with all five scenes, I'll either get done with their code or move on to the next set of scenes. I'm not sure what approach I'll go with so I'll wait and see how I feel when I'm done with this set. 

This update (so far) has some interesting content in my opinion that will probably raise more questions than answer any. But my goal is to not let this one feel like a drag and a filler episode so I'll reveal more than the previous episodes. I think it's time we start picking up the pace with the story.

Weekly Update

Hey everyone!

Fun fact - I got better and then got sick again haha. But it's not as bad as it was. It's just a lot of sneezing and a cold. Took a covid test and I don't have it so I'm good. There's no weakness either. It's just an annoying cold that should go away soon.

I've been writing an outline for the first few scenes and the content is already exceeding the previous release so I'm going to say I'm on the right path. Now that I've written down 5 scenes, I'm going to start rendering them and then coding them. This is attempt #57 at being organized and doing things the right way. Let's hope I can stick to it this time so my development process goes by smoothly. 

This second part of episode 4 feels good so far and I don't have any major concerns like I did with the previous part. I just wasn't doing too well in the focus department for the previous release and it showed. But this one already feels different and I'm glad. I really want the group to reach the capital and start the story there because most of my 'future content' thoughts are all at the capital after they start training. Rendering for this set of scenes should start in two days. I'll post previews every now and then on Discord and on Steam.

Introducing: The Seven Realms

The Seven Realms is a fantasy, story-driven adult visual novel developed by a couple known as SeptCloudGames.


You play as Atlas (name can be changed), a vampire prince maintaining order in the Realm of Terran. He unexpectedly meets a girl called Leyala, which begins a chain of events that will lead them across all seven realms.


They have recently finished the development of Realm 1, which is based in Terran and revolves around vampires and werewolves. In the future realms, you will meet demons, elves, mermaids, fairies, and various other species. Did I mention it's also a harem game? There will be girls of each species that you can have fun with.

Realm 2 will begin releasing soon on their Patreon!


There are three main love interests, alongside around 23 other girls you can get with during the game. All sexual content in the game is avoidable, except for two scenes that are still skippable.

While there are many girls you can be with, the game's real focus comes with its story and characters. The plot is planned out, and some of the future episodes have already been written. All characters have detailed backstories and personalities, which will be explored as the game progresses. That said, you can already find out more about many of the characters on their website.

Episode 4.a!

Hey everyone!

I'm really sorry about how long the first half of episode 4 took. I had a lot to do irl in the past month and lost a lot of development time. The links for both the Mac version and Pc version can be found in the folder shared above. 

A few things to note before you play - This is just the first half of episode 4. The second half will be longer. This one is heavier on the filler/casual side of content. The plot reveals I have in mind were completely out of place in this first half and it'll be better if they come up together in the second half. This means that two large scenes won't be part of this release even though they're rendered and ready to go. Sorry, I'm doing this from a story telling point of view. The placeholders for bonus images are in place but the images will also come out with the next part. 

To sum up, I hope you like this first half. Again.. it's a very light hearted release and is more on a casual side. If you want a more plot heavy serious version, the next release will do that for you. My next semi break is only in the at the end of January which is when my sister gets married. So I'll be here all of November and December. The next half will be out before Christmas!

Hi everyone! The download links will be up here and on the patreon channel on the discord server today. I have a flight to catch in about seven hours. It's only a three hour journey so I won't be offline for too long. I have the code and renders on my laptop too which I'll be carrying with me just in case I have to hit that upload button after I land. Three days to go!

Hey everyone,

We're three days away from the update and I hope you like the episode. Well, half episode*. I think the render count should be at ~500. The second half should have more since I want certain events to take place only in the second half. I didn't want to split up certain events and it just made sense for them to be in the same release together. This first half will be more straight forward and an easier playthrough. What I mean by that is, the pathing/choices aren't a huge focus on this one. So the first half creates a more light-hearted opening for the second half.

I'm going to get back to code for now but I really liked this render and thought I'd share it here. Hope you're all having a good week so far.

Release date! (tentative)

Hello everyone! 

I hope you're all doing great. A few of you have reached out and asked me if I'm doing okay because you haven't heard from me for a while. Without turning this page into my personal diary, let's just say this month has been a lot to handle. I promise you this VN is not getting abandoned. I'll see it through even if our numbers drop. You guys have been more than supportive throughout my process. I was hoping for a Halloween release since it's a cool date and all, but I'm going to have to push it another week ahead. So we're looking at the first week of November for v0.4a . This is a tentative date so if all goes well, I'll post the update in the first half of the week. If it doesn't go as planned, I'll post it towards the end of the week. So just think of the release date as somewhere in the first week of November.

Just a reminder, chapter 4 will be split in two parts. There are many reasons, one of which is, I want to have some casual content too and not just have a purely plot heavy episode. It's something I'm trying out so if you have issues/concerns with the content, feel free to message me.

I'll be signing off for now (3:30 am where I live) and look for another box of tissues since I've already gone through a whole box today because of my damn cold. All the moving around and changes in the weather messed with my system and I keep getting sick.

(not so) Weekly Update

Hey everyone!

I realized I haven't shared a preview for a while. This one is from a scene where you'll come across a few characters designed by a fellow patron. He was my first patron and it's just something I've wanted to try before committing to the idea. When I say 'designed', I mean he gave me a very well written description of the characters including their names, and I did my best to create them. Hopefully I've done some justice to his idea and they turn out well. This will be one of the first few encounters where you the player choose to go through with the scene or not.  This means that the encounter won't add anything to the main plot but will just add some side content if that's the sort of thing you'd enjoy. 

Renders slowed down a bit and we're at ~400 when the last update had ~300. I'm trying to add my lame humor to a few scenes now before I render more. I like to have tiny bits of humor after a little reading. It's what keeps me interested as a player (personal preference). I'm sorry I can't give you all an exact date yet. I know it's been a while. I lost my flow for some time and it took me a while to get back to it. I hope you all understand. On a side note, I really love Lyra in this shot for some reason. Something about her expression. 

Anyway, I hope you've all been great and I'm very grateful to all of you, including the new patrons that have joined recently. I always think I'll get new supporters only at the beginning of each update but you guys come in outta nowhere and just motivate me.

Weekly Update

Hi everyone!

First of all, Welcome to the community, new patrons! Thank you for your support.

It's 4:30 am here and I just got done with ~60 renders for today so this post may not be very articulate. Slightly off topic but there's this damn bird that starts chirping way too early and I can hear it right now as I type.

This is a good post because I'm finally happy with the renders and script again. I was slightly worried when I wasn't enjoying the script for a while there. I'm not sure what that phase was but it was very overwhelming. I was second guessing everything I wrote/created and it just snowballed into something that wasn't pretty. 

I took a few days off and tried not to think of the game. That seemed to do the trick. I just went for walks, lived my everyday life, and a few days later, I found myself eager to come back to write. My goal is to work on at least 40-50 renders a day to make up for the time I lost but I managed to hit 60 today so it's a good sign. 

For those of you who may have missed the last post, I paused payments so you won't be charged for next month. It's just a small thank you to all of you for supporting me for all these months, and also, I feel extremely guilty when I feel like I can't deliver at faster speeds so if I ever feel like I did less than I could have, I'll hit that pause payment button.

We're done with 4 scenes so far and I plan on adding 3-4 more. Not all scenes are the same length, of course. Rendering is so much more fun now because of the new Pc. Nothing is laggy anymore so thank you all for the support which allowed me to get this Pc.

I haven't opened discord for the past 3 days because when I took my mini break away from the game, I intentionally stayed off discord too so I'm sorry if some of you messaged me and are still unanswered. I'll get back to you when I wake up.

Weekly Update!

Hey everyone, 

I hope you're all doing well. I've been pretty busy lately because of my sister's engagement. Random fact : I used to work as an event manager before I decided to learn some basic code (which led me to Renpy games) so I'm sort of helping with the planning process. I won't be online as much for the next three days as the event is on the 8th and I'm really sorry about this because I got family coming in from all over so I know it's going to be chaotic. 

I've honestly not had too much time to work on the renders because I keep getting interrupted by the relatives that are already here and I just lose my flow. This has led to a lot of scrapping of work sadly because I don't want to publish updates that I myself am not happy with. I want the content to feel good. The sad irony is that I finally got a super fast system and I can't even seem to use it properly yet haha. I'll get to use it in peace as soon as they leave. Plus there's always that one little cousin who sees a computer and sticks around thinking you have games. Little does he know, the only game I have right now is an AVN. 

Long story short, I'm personally not too thrilled with the render progress because I expected much more thanks to the new PC. I will catch up, however. I always do. Some of you may know I didn't start this for the money and more for the community which makes this whole thing fun to work on in the first place. As soon as this post goes live, I'm going to be pausing next months payment as a mini celebration for the engagement haha. All of you have given so much to me and this is just a small way of giving back. You can also look at it as my small apology for not being too quick with the update even though I thought I'd make amazing progress. Thank you for understanding and I hope you have a great day!

Weekly Update!

Hi everyone!

I got paid by Steam today and before I get into the development progress, I'd like to thank all of you again for showing so much support. It means a lot that I can continue doing this full time and not worry about working a 9-5 job. For some reason, I could never stick to those. 

This part is a mini update about my personal life so feel free to ignore this if you're not interested. Like I mentioned in my previous post, I just got back from meeting my sisters future in-laws and they'll be coming to visit us in a week. They'll be here for ~3 days so I may not be available to respond to you on discord/Patreon in those 3 days since I'll mostly be showing them around town etc. If it's urgent, however, feel free to dm me on Patreon since I get email notifications for those and I know I need to get back to you asap.

As far as the episode is concerned, I did have a few days where I wrote a lot but scrapped all of it because I wasn't happy with the flow. When I play these games, I want something to feel like it has some meaning even if it's filler content. And I'm not a fan of brainless filler content. Some of my scenes felt that way to me when I kept reading through them so I decided it's better to re do rather than commit to something I'm not happy with. Since I can throw out LOTS of renders a day, I decided to continue with my 'code first, render later' plan. I'm still liking the way it's working out since I'll get to really fine tune facial expressions etc as per the pre written dialogue. I should have some previews for you in the next update. Sorry about the lack of previews. I guess that's the down side of coding first and rendering later. But I'll have a few up on discord and Patreon soon!

As always, I'm available to answer any questions / concerns about the game. Some of you ask me about specific future content so feel free to continue doing that. Just keep in mind, I may suggest not knowing about certain elements if they include major spoilers.

Episode 3 bugfixed.

Hey everyone, 

I'm really sorry for doing this to you but it turns out there was a bug that made the game skip a scene with Talitha.

This scene shows up soon after the Amaris scene.

Currently, you only get a black screen with text about your night with Talitha.

The fix shows you a scene of Talitha coming over.


Quick renpy tips to fastforward :

1. Head to option and select skip unseen text.

2. Hold down 'ctrl' in your game to fastforward scenes.

3. Stop at the Amaris scene and watch the Talitha scene.


For those of you who don't want to download the whole file again, you can just download the tiny patch called 'TS v0.3 Bugfix2' which you'll find in the same link. You can just extract that file into your Swordbearer folder and click 'yes' when it asks to replace.

Thank you for 100 patrons!

Hey everyone,

I've been so engrossed in writing the script for the next episode that I didn't even realize we hit 100 patrons. I remember getting excited when I saw my first patron and that doesn't even feel like it was too long ago. So hitting 100 is a great feeling.

I'm grateful to all of you because none of you have been demanding or complained about the way I've done certain parts of the story even though you may have different preferences than mine. So I really appreciate that. You guys have been supportive since day 1. This doesn't mean you shouldn't bring up concerns if you have any. My dms are always open and I encourage you to ask any questions / give any suggestions you may have.

I decided to go with a non canon shot of Arina because I'm writing a scene that she's part of. It's rendered on the new pc and I hope you like it.

The future of Episode 4

Hey everyone,

This is going to be a public post since I want to talk about the next episode.

Before I even started development of episode 1, I knew that most of my ideas were ambitious and sounded great in theory and not easy to pull off in practice. One example would be the bounty board I'll be adding to the guild. This would add a fair amount of optional side quests like you see in many rpgs. They'll have their own mini story. For those of you familiar with Skyrim, imagine finding Anise's hut. She's a simple old woman but if you decide to push further, you find out she's hiding much more than that. 

I know I sound like a broken record when I say this, but the game has managed to survive on my trusty old laptop so far. Now, with a setup I only used to dream of (the 3090), I'm much more confident about these ambitious features also because I know I don't want a simple 'this is the plot. finish it' VN. I have around 20 side quest ideas written down which should be enough for now. Some of them are big, some of them are small. Which ones I implement first aren't decided yet.

Episode 4 will have the same release format as episode 2 did (0.4a and 0.4b).

Why? Because I want to start including more optional quests to the story and I feel like filling a release with optional quests won't be fair to the plot. This sounds like a lot of work and frankly, it is. But I'm now doing this full time and I'm learning more with each release also thanks to the feedback from all of you.

tldr : I love my new pc. Episode 4 will be split in two.

Hi everyone,

After all the laptop issues and uncertainty, it's finally here. Before you download and play this episode, please consider taking a few minutes to read the post.

You'll get a message at the end of the episode saying there are more scenes coming. These will be added on the 8th of this month. After the laptop came back from the service center, I resumed work and fit whatever I could in this release. However, there were scenes that felt really important to make the episode feel complete. I'm working on them as we speak so on the 8th, I'll replace the links with an updated version. You can play the episode now and wait for the final 3 scenes, or wait for the whole episode on the 8th. Your call.

Today was a great day because I finally got to see my new PC. All the parts finally got here and I watched them set it up. I'll start using it after the 8th because if I spend time moving my files and assets from my laptop to the new PC, I'll lose another day of development. This means that future episodes will be  developed on a much much faster machine. For those of you who don't know, I invested in a 3090 and have decided to do this full-time. This means the delay between future updates should be drastically cut down because of the new PC.

Thank you all for sticking around. I know there's been random hiccups during every release and I appreciate each and every one of you for still supporting me. Hopefully the system issues stop now that I can work much faster. If any of you want Steam keys for the game, please feel free to contact me on discord.

The PC version is uploaded but for some reason, google drive says my storage is full even though I have no files in there + I just bought 100gb. So the Mac version will be up as soon as google frees up my space.

Weekly Update #14

Hey everyone!

I'm towards the end of coding right now and I just realized I'm a little late on the weekly update. Things are looking good and the next post should include the download link for the game. 

The Steam version which will be released on the 8th of August will have ~2-3 more scenes because I realized I need to really wrap up the episode in way where it feels like the end of an episode. As soon as that's released, I'll replace the links here so you can get those 2-3 scenes. I was considering just waiting until the 8th to release the whole thing here and on Steam but I already said I'll be doing it this month so I don't want to go back on that. Those who can wait however, I suggest waiting until the 8th which is just 1 more week after the Patreon release to play the whole episode with the final 2-3 scenes. These 2-3 scenes should have ~20 minutes of gameplay or more if you like to take your time with things.

I want to thank all of you again for sticking with me when my laptop decided to die on me and getting it back to normal wasn't looking too promising. Yes, development took a hit and yes, I could've gotten much more done but that's okay. There's always next time. I haven't cut any major scenes I wanted to include but there are a few non plot related optional scenes I wanted to have in this release but I can just add them in the next one. So it's all good.

Weekly Update #13

Hey everyone! We have 4 new members this week. Thank you all for joining!

We have ~14 scenes this update and I'm keeping 4 more days for rendering, followed by 3-4 days of code. The remaining few days will be for proof-reading, bug testing etc. Render count is ~410 right now. I'm assuming it'll go up to ~600. 

I want to have a discount for the Steam release but unfortunately I can't have another sale until the 8th, so the Steam release will probably be delayed just so I can get a sale out there. There are still a lot of wishlists that can convert to sales so I'm trying to target those. My PC plans will be delayed by a month sadly because turns out Steam pays you at the end of the month following sales. So I'll get paid at the end of August. But it's okay. I'm getting an upgrade.

Some irrelevant info but I feel like sharing so - The upgrade will let me work much much faster. Right now, I load in 2 characters and my machine already chokes up. The new GPU will let me throw in a bunch of them and work smoothly, and renders that take me ~45 mins now will take me less than 10 mins. So I'm really looking forward to releasing content at a much quicker rate.
