We did some shooting outside the apartment with Shasta wearing a little black dress that she had brought (I may post that set some time). After that, Shasta posed on the bed in the apartment, then slowly removed the dress. Her figure looks amazing, in and out of the dress.
Technical: Nikon D700 with NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8G VR II lens. Main light is a Nikon SB800 flash in the corner of the room to camera right, with fill from another SB800 in the opposite corner.

US based art model Shasta Wonder is well known for her stunning hourglass figure. This was the last part of a very long shooting session.
Technical: Nikon D700 with NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8 lens. Light from two Nikon SB800 flashes placed in various places around the bathroom, fired by Pocket Wizard Plus II triggers.

Although this set show Belinda applying her make up, it was in fact the last thing we shot. It just goes to show that, like all art, photography can be a work of fiction.
Shot at Tall Dark & Art House of Boudoir.
Technical: Nikon D850 with NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8E lens. Light from a Godox AD200pro flash in the corner of the room.

From a shoot I did years ago when Shasta Wonder visited Australia. Shasta is a fairly well known art model from the US (although she was born in Rwanda). She is famed for her fabulous figure and large natural breasts, and has appeared in quite a few photographers portfolios.
She was supposed to return to Australia in 2020, sadly the pandemic intervened.
This is part of an extended shoot we did in an apartment in Melbourne. I previously published 2021-09-04 07:12:06 +0000 UTC

Lucy is based in New Zealand, and came to Australia a few months ago for a tour. The tour plan was abandoned as Lucy spent her time moving from state to state to avoid lockdowns. I was fortunate to be able to catch up with her the day before she flew back to NZ.
This was early morning in an apartment with a lot of windows, so there was interesting dappled light coming in. But one of my things is controlling light, so I also shot a set with flash (which I will post later).

Sarah Lily and I had to head off down a small path to avoid people walking through the park. At the end of this path we found a building with a wire fence around it. No idea what the building was for, but the gate was unlocked and their was no signs, so we used it as a prop. It was fun to play with depth of field and focus selection.
There were these really nice ferns just outside the gate, so we also played with them, trying to get something that was Instagram safe.

From the first shoot at TDA House of Boudoir. I have had this barely-there dress for a while and used it in a few shoots. (I think it is actually designed to be worn over swimwear at the beach, but whatever.)
More of Renee to come soon - we shout a few different ideas.
Technical: Nikon D850 with NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8E lens. 2 x Godox AD200pro either side of the camera.

This was a little bit of experimentation that came out so well that a friend who saw it asked me where I found twin models.
So, how was it done?
Preparation
The first thing was to set the scene, starting with positioning the furniture and setting up lights. Then there was a lot of getting Renee to stand up and sit down, to work out where she was going to be in both photos, and then standing in for her (which consisted of me holding a fist where he head would...

It took us ages to work out our first shoots together, and as it turned out this was the first shoot at the new Tall Dark & Art House of Boudoir - even the owner had not had a chance to shoot there before this.
Melbourne's lockdown has been extended again, which is slowing down my output. Thanks for sticking around (and a shout out to those who just joined).
Technical: Nikon D850 with NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8G VR II lens, shot with natural light. It was a variabl...

Another shoot from long ago, I'm afraid. I do most of my processing at night, but for the last two weeks I have been too tired, so back to the archives we go.
This was originally published on another platform, which sadly no longer exists. So I am republishing here.
This was taken at a time when Jos had given up modelling for a while - this was her first shoot after she decided to take it up again.

Reaching back into the archives, this is a shoot from 2017.
Lili is a travelling Czech model who sadly only made it to Australia once. We did a late night shoot around Melbourne city and Docklands with a lot of public nudity (and fortunately not a lot of people around).
This set was the last bit of shooting we did - as we were going back to the car I noticed this well lit area just at the side of a building. Lili had dress with her that she wanted to use (and we had not used so fa...

Here is a preview of some upcoming posts.
My friend Peter used the latest Melbourne lockdown to set up a new studio, which he is calling "House of Boudoir" - and I got to do the first shoot there. It was a long day as I did two shoots: Belinda (in the red jacket) who I have not shot before and Renee who already has a few sets here (and I think some were looking forward to seeing her nude shots).
I will be working on these this week, so expect some posts soon.

Kiko, fresh from the shower, poses in front of the lockers.
I say "shower", but this is really a studio so I just sprayed her down with a water bottle. It was a tough job, but somebody had to do it!
Kiko was competing in body sculpting competitions at the time, and is really toned.
Technical: Shot with my Nikon D700 and the NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8D lens (the nifty fifty). Seriously, this lens is the workhorse for portrait photography and you can pick o...

For the last part of the shoot we moved to the top floor of the studio (which is also the studio owner's lounge room). The studio has a number of coloured walls and different windows giving a variety of different lights.
As an aside - if you visit and artist's or photographer's studio and notice that the windows are dirty, it's not because the artist is too lazy to clean their windows. It is because the Sun shining on a dirty windows results in soft light, where as it will shine through...

I came across this set in the archives while looking for photos of the studio this was taken in. I am working on it and will post it early next week.
The set features Kiko in front of the lockers having just come from the shower.
After nearly 2 weeks of lockdown I am able to move around again, and on Saturday I will be doing two shoot in a new boudoir studio. My models will be Renee and another that I have not worked with before. So look out for some fresh content later next week....

The second part of the shoot was some art nude style shots.
The set was a black wall and a white backdrop at 90 degrees. The original lighting intention was to use the black wall as backdrop, with the light coming in from the side and reflected from the white backdrop to control contrast, but the shadow on the white backdrop looked interesting as well, so I took some shots from that angle.
Technical: Nikon D700, NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8E VR II lens. Light from an old 2000w movie stud...

I only got to shoot Kristie Lee once, but her shots have been requested so I have dived in to reprocess them. In this first part we were shooting in the part of the studio that has a gym in it and huge windows. She starts off topless in denim shorts and strips to nude.
Technical: Nikon D700 with the NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8G VR II lens. Natural light from the big windows in the studio.

A rather large update this time, 117 photos!
After the green lingerie set Kayla changed into a sexy nightie and black panties, an we moved into the bedroom of the apartment and shot in front of the mirror. I went for a much more natural light in this set, blending my flash with the sunlight coming in the window.
I hope to work with Kayla again some time.

I did a shoot with Sarah Lily out in the bush in the Dandenong Ranges a couple of years ago, and I had a request to publish some photos of her. Unfortunately the shoot was around the same time as The Great Disk Crash Disaster Of 2019 - so while I had the original raw files from the camera I had to redo all the processing.
This set features Sarah Lily wearing denim shorts and a white t-shirt (an...

I have had a request to publish photos of Sarah Lily, and I am working on that set now.
Just as a bit of fun, I noticed two consecutive shots where Sarah gave a quick flash of her boobs, so I made an animated GIF out of those. Hope you like it.

Another photographer introduced me to Kayla and organised a shoot in a very small inner city apartment. We shot in two rooms, this is the first one.
Kayla told me this green lingerie was her favourite, so I added in some red light for contrast. I decided to keep the lighting the same as she stripped out of the bra, then the panties.
I think Kayla's best feature is her eyes. In every shot I keep getting drawn into them.

A couple of weeks ago I did a dark studio shoot with Aim Model - and one of the themes we did was Aim as a sushi tray. Yes, I got to arrange the sushi on her. 😁
The second shot there is the lighting test - I wanted to make sure I had the lighting right before I put the sushi on her in case she needed to move.
Technical: Nikon D850 and a mix of the NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8G VR II and 24-70mm f/2.8E lenses. Light is from a Godox MS300 flash with a Godox strip softbo...

From last Sunday's shoot with Aim - more of this to come as I process it.
Technical: Nikon D850 with the NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8G VR II lens. Lighting from 2 Godox MS300 studio flashes, one in a strip soft box attached to a boom mounted above and behind Aim, so most of the light is coming from the back. The other in a 120cm octagon soft box, mounted above, behind and to the left of the camera to give fill light to the front.

In the last set of photos from this shoot Sylph is posing on the bed in the tiny second bedroom. There was a book called "The Goddess Guide" there, and I thought it would be a nice irony to shoot her reading it.
There was a small reading lamp on the bedside table, and I quite liked the light it as casting - but of course it was far to dim to shoot by. So I set up flashes to try and emulate the light.
